“Way too much food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

Like the previous contributor, we were shocked at what we expected to be authentic bavarian cuisine. I actually enjoyed the chicken but only ate one piece. The vast quantities of food are offensive and wasteful. We left more food than what we ate. There is certainly no relaxing ambience and there was actually a family beside us who had children running all through the restaurant - in fact one of them was WALKING from chair to chair around their table. They then decided to play on the piano which completely disturbed our dinner. Since it didn't seem to bother the parents, we would have expected that the restaurant staff would have intervened. This will go down as a memorable experience during a friends' weekend away - we won't be back.

“"Disappointing and Disgusting"”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

A group of friends and I were in Frankenmuth for the weekend. Some of us had even looked online for restaurant suggestions and Zehnder's was highly recommended. We were all excited for a great German meal. When we walked in we could not believe that it had a lineup earlier. It was bright, crowded and everyone was eating "family style" dinners of fried chicken. We were mostly hoping for schnitzel but the menu only had it slathered in gravy, mushrooms, tomatoes and a plethora of other toppings. We ordered it plain- 1 came overdone- burnt to be exact- and the other was bordering on a little too pink. The entire meal, even though well priced, was absolutely gross. The highlight was the coleslaw because everything else was clearly pre-frozen and had been sitting for ages. Eat all your meals anywhere else!

“INSULTING food!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

Let me first offer a visual of this dining experience. Highschool cafeteria style as brightly lit as the OR. Of course one may need to visit the OR after dining here! Cardiac arrest anyone? A few friends and I traveled to Frankenmuth this past weekend to do some shopping and we were looking forward to a great authentic German dinner. Here is a precise list of what we were served from beginning to end; PACKAGED chicken noodle soup, BOXED potatoes, PRE-FROZEN vegetable medely(yes I mean cubed carrots, peas and corn),runny gross spatzle (how this can be butchered I still don't know) and our schnitzel was done in PANKO! Schnitzel tempura? Really? Gordon Ramsay would probably have to be institutionalized if he had to eat here. I urge travelers with any remote love for good food to not waste your time or your money at this tourist trap. We ate at Tiffany's the evening before and had a very satisfying meal for a quarter of the price.

“best chicken ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

family style restaruant, they have the best fried chicken I have ever had. their all you can eat dinner is somewhat pricey at $19 per person but well worth the price. If you go in busy season, (late fall and any weekend) try and get a reservation. there was 4 of us and the wait in line was over 1 hr.

“Potatoes came out of a box”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

Do I need to say anymore? This was the worst meal I have ever had. The schnitzel was made with panko bread crumbs, the potatoes came from a box and the veg provided came from a bag in the freezer. I was so disappointed.
