“Going again this month”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2008

I laugh when I read comments from people that say it was compact or the price was not worth what they got. It is compact because it was built recently and they took the space they could get but they used it wisely. Its in a town that gets a lot of visitors so the price will be higher especially since it is right in the middle of everything. We stayed there last Thanksgiving weekend and loved every second of it. Go downtown and need to go back and rest it only takes a minute. We are going there again this Thanksgiving and we had to book our suite 6 months ago. We will be going here every year. Great Breakfast too.

We really enjoyed our time in Frankenmuth. This town has something for everyone! WE chose this hotel because it had the best curb appeal and is a Marriot. The hotel was very clean and seemed new and remodled it was near the same price range as the Best Western and was so much nicer inside! It was also in the heart of Frankenmuth. The pool was a nice size and was very clean. They had a nice hottub as well. We really enjoyed the breakfast that is FREE! It tasted great. You could make your own waffles and bagels. There were eggs and sausage along with pasteries, fruits, and juices. The front desk was helpful as well. The fudge in Frankenmuth is OUTSTANDING! Make sure you vist all the shops they are so neat. One thing that I did not like was Zehnder's restraurant the food was expensive and terrible! WE had a great time at the Springhill Suites!!

We paid $154 on a Friday night at this hotel and expected to get a little more, but it was clean and okay. It has a good location. We loved Frankenmuth and the atmosphere. Felt like this hotel was jammed between some other buildings and turned sideways as an afterthought. It just did not have the Bavarian feel of the town. I will probably return to Frankenmuth, but will probably NOT stay here. We found the staff to be nice and helpful. We ate at Tiffany's per their recommendation and found it to be very good.

The SpringHill Suites are well located in Frankenmuth and close to all the tourist sites - you can walk to everything. The suites are compact, but have sitting areas, microwave & fridge, wireless internet, etc. However, the beds are very uncomfortable - some of the worst that I have ever slept in! Also the hotel has a nice expanded breakfast - but there is not enough space for all of the guests to eat in the morning, so you must get there early, or take it upstairs. It's a newer property in town, and you could do worse, but those beds really need improvement - we were there 2 nights, and by the second day we were really hurting!

We had a nice stay in Frankenmuth. We booked only for one night as intermediate stop between Toronto and Chicago. As part of Marriott hotel chain I was sure to find a good standard.
We have not been disappointed.
Room was spacious, with new furnitures: comfortable king bed, big bath, nice kitchenette. As we booked 2 rooms, the hotel reserved a "twin" so that they were connected together by an internal door we kept open during the day. This has been very appreciated.
We had some relax at the swimming pool and jacuzzi. While not properly big, it was clean and really nice.
Breakfast also has been above average: waffel, eggs, sausages are not always present in a hotel of such category. If I have to find something wrong, I have to say that breakfast room was too little for the hotel size, so that we had to wait for a free table.
Parking spot was also convenient, as well the short distance between the hotel and the town center (5 min walking).
If I consider the price we paid (104$+tax/room) in July that I guess is high season, we can be 100% satisfied.
If we ever will come back to Frankenmuth, I will book again in this hotel.

Really enjoyed our overnight visit at this hotel. Clean and staff was very nice. Kids enjoyed the pool. Location is nice (within walking distance of attractions) and the beds were very comfortable. Would stay here again.

My husband and I booked a weekend getaway for two nights at Springhill Suites in Fankenmuth for a romantic getaway (long over due!). Being tied to the Marriott name I would have expected far more, and we were very disappointed.

When we arrived late on Friday evening, we checked in and found that the light in the bathroom didn't work. Since it was late, we just figured we would muddle through until morning. Needless to say, new place - middle of the night - trying to use the restroom = running into everything!

The next day we got up bright and early and went to have the free breakfast that was included before heading out on foot for shopping. What a disaster. The room was packed with people and you could barely move. There was no seating anywhere since people decided to linger and talk over coffee for 30 minutes. The worst part, and one the hotel could have controlled, was the fact that they ran out of everything. One young woman was trying to keep up with everyone's request, but just couldn't keep things full (and the front desk, which is right there, just sat behind the counter doing nothing to help, even though they weren't doing anything else). The coffee was out, cereal was out, milk was gone, silverware was out, waffle batter out, eggs out. The only thing you could get was pastries. We finally gave up and just left the hotel. Again on Sunday - same thing! - so paying for this room to include free breakfast was a waste of money! And this was their slow season! I can't imagine what it would like during peak summer times.

The final straw was on Saturday when we returned from being out all day long. We left about 9:00am and returned around 3:30pm to find our room wasn't clean yet. We were tired from all the walking and wanted a quick nap so we advised the cleaning lady, who was all the way down the hall way still, that we would be taking a nap and would contact room service in a short while when we were up. We went back out at 5:30pm to go to dinner and told the front desk they could ask room service to go in and clean now, and they said - they are not here anymore. I explained that the room not being cleaned at 3:30 in the afternoon was ridiculous and now we were being told it wasn't going to be cleaned at all? He said the best he could do was give us some fresh towels.

At $129 per night / during off season when the hotel was half empty/ this is just poor customer service to say the least!

Other negative notes, parking was very limited, and had a hard time parking in winter - can't imagine summer trying to park.

Positives: The hotel was kept up nicely and everything looked new. The suites were nice as far as having a fridge, micro, and coffee maker. Didn't use the pool but it looked nice.
