“excellent burgers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

Their burgers have a good flavor. They have a beautiful view of Lake Ponemah. For a Friday night, they need to have a more experienced waitress at bar. Received a cosmopolitan with Triple Sec in it. Asked why it tasted funny and she said they ran out of lime juice. Seems like it would be a priority to have lime juice on a Friday night. If I was manager,I would have gone out to the store to get some. Just saying..... Also, chili came out cold. I asked to take back and came back with drippings on the side and boiling hot. The nachos tested better when put chili on top since it was too hot to eat in bowl.

“Great Atmosphere, but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Been to this place when it was Blaney's and then Tee-Bonz. This is a new owner. The deck out by the lake here is great. It's cool you can get here by boat. The inside is cozy and welcoming too. Lots of windows. Our waitress did a good job considering it was only her second day. Getting our food seemed to take forever though. And it wasn't just us. Everyone was waiting. I will give them the benefit of the doubt though because they had a very large birthday party going on inside. So maybe it was just bad timing on our part. The food was pretty good, except for the fish sandwich. Two tiny pieces of over-cooked fish and lame tartar sauce. French dip was good. Burger was good. I thought $3.75 for a Corona was a little much. But I'm willing to give them another try.

“Better than just "bar" food.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

It's been Blaney's on the Water, then Tee-Bonz, and now Spoonz Lakeside Tavern. The new owners opened up the lake view a bit with new windows, which is a positive change. They've only re-opened in the past few months so the summer-on-the-deck remains to be tested. We went once with a group and tried a number of items and then once for a couple's dinner. In both cases, we received excellent service. The wait staff was knowledgeable, helpful, and willing to help with some dietary accommodations. The Seafood Mac & Cheese had 6-8 good size whole shrimp and was tasty. The grouper special one night was very good and they were happy to do an alternate preparation (blackened) for a member of our party. The pizza was good, an order of bread sticks was huge and very buttery, burgers seemed a bit pricey but are 1/2 pound. The only disappointment for our group were the nachos - a generous platter but just too messy with the large topping of shredded lettuce. Two very pleasant surprises - both times the side vegetable appeared to be grilled and fresh and was very tasty, secondly the mango-chardonnay dressing for the salad was a nice change. We look forward to seeing if the service and food quality remains as good this summer.
