“The only Mexican Restaurant in Town”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

This is the only Mexican restaurant in town, and it's expensive for what it is. The advertised "karaoke night" is really the owner's son playing keyboard for most of the evening.

But, it's a local place, reasonable food, but just a bit over-priced, and the atmosphere is still stuck in the 1970's.

“I will take a pass on this one.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

The food was very average. It did not taste "homemade" and it is not "authentic" Mexican food. Its Tex-Mex if you are lucky. Service was average. We sat next to a table of druken high school/college students who were rude and obnoxious. The wait-staff showed a lot of class in not getting into it with them. If it was my place I would have thrown them all out.

“Not sure how they stay in business”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2012

This is a very bad faux Mexican restaurant. Food comes to the table predictably full of canned refried beans, laden with melted cheese, and slathered with sour cream "product." I took it off my list long ago, after several disappointments. Yet they must still be catching some of the traffic coming south from Petoskey. If you are headed south and crave South of the Border, you are more or less out of luck until Grand Rapids, but in TC you can try and wait a few minutes and make your way to Red Mesa. They, at least, have some terrific margarita's to wash all that cheese, rice and beans down with.

“Not worth stopping, except if you're thirsty.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2012

As a previous post put it "come here to drink, not to eat" food is bland and uninspired. This place has the location and potential to be great. I

“I'd rather eat at Taco Bell”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2011

Came with a large family gathering. The service was excellent, the food was abysmal.
I ordered a $13.00 "special" marinade chicken burrito. It was just ordinary at best. No marinade that I could taste.
This was dinner special and comes with NO extra, I.E. NO rice or beans. Just a terrible place.
