“Ants!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2013

After the first night we found ants in the bathroom on the towels. I moved to another hotel after the first night. I've never stayed in a smaller room. This is a very old hotel. There is no privacy for someone to brush their teeth in the morning without waking up someone who is sleeping (i.e. the bathroom sink is not closed off from the beds). The continental breakfast leaved a lot to be desired. The shower head height is too low. If you are 4 feet tall then the shower head height is perfect.

My husband and I have stayed at this HoJo's a few times over the past few years as our son goes to Michigan State.

I have found this property to be always a nice place to stay and every time we stay here it seems to be better!

Prices are affordable. The pool area is very nice and comfortable. A very large area with a tv and sitting area for guests!!

The breakfast is a typical small fare with coffee, tea, muffins, toast. etc...not much to brag about-but there are many areas nearby for a larger breakfast.

The Staff are very pleasant and helpful.
Rooms have always been clean and the beds very comfortable. We have always stayed in a King Room on the Exterior of this Hotel....I love the location and will always stay here when I am in the East Lansing Area!

Having has modestly OK and downright weird experiences at other Wyndham motels in the Lansing area I'll be back as this is the tallest midget in the room. Thin walls made for noise both from the next room (giggling girls) and the pool but everyone must have been quiet through the night as I didn't awake. No chlorine smell from the very close by pool if the door is closed. Easy to keep the room temp constant as there are no outside windows - the only window looks out on the pool area. Mitsubishi heater/cooler very quiet. We were far enough from the big screen TV in the center area for that not to be an issue. Friendly staff. OK cold breakfast items. Un-adjustable, non-flat screen color TV had green faces. All in all not bad.

The outside of the hotel was rough, rust on stairs and lots of potholes in the parking lot. When I wen in our reservation was messed up, however the receptionist fixed it right away. We booked two online, but the reservation only came back as one. The beds were clean, but there was stool on the door and a red stain, both of which washed off easily. The lamp shade was torn. The pool was clean, however the jets for the hot tub were broken. The furniture in the common area was comfortable, but used. The floors where gross with stains all over them. TV in common area was nice they let the kids hook up the xbox and play on it. Nice when you travel with a high school quiz bowl team. Overall the staff, clean beds and pool made up for it. Just wish they would have a wafflemaker. Decent for amount paid. Wouldn't stay if I had to pay full price.

This hotel is old and hasn't been kept up well. There was a slight urine smell in the bathroom and the towels were threadbare. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.
