“Quick and delicious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

Surprisingly, Lansing has several different options for middle eastern cuisine throughout the area. Woody's Oasis is one such example.

It offers a casual dine-in atmosphere. But it is almost as quick as fast food. Don't let this aspect lead you to believe that as a result the food quality is lacking. In fact, just the opposite is true. Everything comes out fresh, hot, and delicious.

There are both vegetarian and meat options on the menu -- both offerings equal in number. While I have yet to have anything bad at Woody's, I would recommend the following, and I will separate them by meat/vegetarian:

Meat:
Cabbage Rolls
Kibbe (Baked or Fried)
Hashwi (Rice, chicken, pine nuts and lamb)
Kafta (Beef)

Vegetarian:
Mujadara (cooked lentils with various spices and seasonings
Lebanese salad
Falafel (spicy or original)
Grape Leaves

For those who have not tried middle eastern cuisine before, Woody's is a great way to experience the food since the menus is extensive and everything is reasonably priced.

“Great luch spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

Tasty healthy food. Fast service, but really fills up at lunch time. The portions are large so you do not need to order much. They also do a nice job of catering.

“Nice staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

The food is the same great stuff as at the original Woody's off Trowbridge but you can have a beer here. Quantities are good and it's the best hummus around. There is interesting art on the wall and tables at the window are sunny and and good people watching. They might consider cleaning the floor more often? Ah well, it's a college town!

“Tasty food, quick service, great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012 via mobile

Very convenient location on west side of campus in dated strip mall. Bright, spacious and clean, Woody's has a broad menu of middle eastern favorites and some lesser known treats. Prior visits enjoyed shwarma and hummus, tasty and reasonable. Even the mjaddara stands out, with distinct flavor and texture usually missing. Today enjoyed vegetarian light lunch as MSU tailgaters gathered for a home game. Fattoush was tangy and tasty, with right peroration of cucumbers to lettuce, dressing with plenty of sumac and parsley to provide lightly bitter balance. Lentil soup with vegetables was nice surprise--fresh onions, celery, onions, carrots with lentils in bright broth made livelier with splash of hot sauce. Friendly staff, quick service only dampened by plastic and paper serving ware, even for dine in. Very easy to return, this is one of my favorite places in E Lansing.

“Good middle eastern fare in East Lansing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

I like this place enough to keep coming back about once a month. Really good homemade hummus and tapioca pudding. The new restaurant in EL by Trowbridge plaza has a lot of seating - though the outside part leaves some to be desired - you are essentially sitting in a parking lot. The downtown EL location I think is a little more "atmospheric" with a better patio.
