“Excellent Beer List & Good Pizza”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2012

We visited Paul Revere's Tavern for the first time in a few years on Saturday, April 7, 2012. We were quite impressed by their list of craft brews, many from Michigan including Bells, Dark Horse and Founders. I'm not usually one for appetizers, but we had to try the house made Mozza Mia - triangles of mozzarella, lightly breaded in seasoned crumbs and fried until golden. They were served with marinara and a kind of a creamy Caesar dressing. We got a large pizza with ground beef, onions and mushrooms. It was quite tasty. The crust is a little thicker than what I expect of New York style pizza, which is how they advertise their za, but it was a delicious dough and we really did enjoy the pizza. Both the dough and the sauce are made at the Tavern. The only drawback was canned mushrooms - I would probably skip mushrooms in the future. Our dinner companions had the Hawaiian Pizza - it had bbq sauce, pineapple and ham. I didn't try it, but they said it was fantastic and ate more than they should have. Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to Paul Revere's Tavern if you've never been or if it has been a while, like it was for us.

“Revere's is a great place to watch football, basketball and drink beer.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2011

I love the cozy atmosphere, the chance to see old Spartans and the "big glasses" for drinking beer or ale. I only wish that it still had the neon sign of Paul Revere astride his steed out front. Also, someone should start a fundraising project to restore the revolving circular bar. Wouldn't that be cool?

“A Nice Alternative to the College Bar Scene”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2011

As a 1986 MSU Alum, this was only my second trip to Paul Revere's Tavern. A comfortable atmosphere with a good food menu and nice selection of craft brews on tap. After a college game or the night before a big tailgate, this is a nice alternative to the heavy bar scene across campus. Try the cheddar cheese and crackers to go with your beer....not too shabby. GO STATE!

“Coming Back to Glory Days”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2011

My girlfriend and I along with two dear college friends went to P.R. after the Michigan State vs. Wisconsin game. We flew up from Baltimore for our sixth year in a row and always stop in to say hi to the owner.

It was about 1:30 A.M. and we were able to have a few cocktails and two pizzas. Smart move for them to have their kitchen open late at night. The food and drinks were great and they had a nice size crowd for late night. It reminded us of the busy Paul Revere's of the sixties.

It's well worth a visit if you're in East Lansing. Say hi to Jim, the owner, and tell him that J.T. sends his regards.
