swagath cuisine s good fast food something we hadnt here in lansing.we have 2 indian restaurants with fine dining features but this one s where u could go for a quick snack.we had chicken pakoras vadas and dosas they were quite good and fresh compared to the old ones we get at sindhus.mango lassi is very good too.however didnt like a waiter a girl was way too rude there was a nice guy waiter however.they definitely need to put in more pleasing waiters and spice up the atmostsphere a bit more.their location is awesome just behind woodys oasis.definitely something worth trying!

“Best Indian Food in EL”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2011 via mobile

Great little restaurant tucked behind Woody's on Trowbridge. The dinner menu was a little overwhelming for someone not familiar with Indian cuisine because it is pretty much just a list of dishes. The server recognized our plight and brought over a longer menu with descriptions of each dish.

Our meal:

Vegetable Samosas - came as a pair stuffed with mixed potatos and peas. The mint chutney was excellent and the other sauce (balsamic?) was a perfect touch of sweetness.

Masala Dosa - huge flat bread with a bowl of some kind of vegetable mash and another bowl of sauce. Very tasty all wrapped up in the bread with a touch of yogurt sauce

Chicken Tikka Masala - This was RICH! Great flavor but so very rich... Probably wouldn't get it again unless splitting it with a group.

Allo Gobbi (I think... It's the first vegetarian dish) - Best dish of the night. Cauliflower, potato, peppers, onions, & tomatoes stir-fried with spices.

Topped it off with garlic naan, and brought home enough leftovers for another meal for two.

I can't wait to go back and try more food!

“Authentic Indian food at a good price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2011

The restaurant is associated with the Indian grocery next door. It is small, immaculately clean, and cheerful. It has a buffet at lunch which I will try another time, but for dinner it has a varied menu including specialties from south India such as masala dosa, the crisp crepe filled with spicy potatoes and lentils, something i like very much but don't often see on menus. The korma was very good and so was the onion kulcha. The portions were generous. They don't have a liquor license yet, but the mango lassi was wonderful.

The place has been open for less than a month, and they haven't quite trained the waitresses, but i am sure that will come soon. Try it!
