We couldn't tell you how this place is as the place never seems to be open when we visit Douglas regardless of the time of day or year. We hear it's a pretty popular spot but finally gave up trying after so many attempts only to find them closed.

“Excellent Food, Service and Ambience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

I rarely eat fried chicken but ordered the chicken fried chicken. Everyone at our table loved it!. The waiter had perfect timing, great suggestions and the right balance between friendliness and professionalism. We loved the tapas appetizer (really loved the figs!), wonderful salads and soups. Best meal and experience we have had in a long time. Suggest you to arrive for the 1st seating since they don't take reservations. If you have to wait, it's worth it!!

“Get There Early”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

This is a very popular restaurant in the Saugatuck-Douglas area. They don't take reservations for dinner, so the best way to have a good experience is to be there by 5:10, wait inline and be in the first seating. We were there over the Columbus Day week-end. Have never been there in Summer, which I suppose can be very very busy. We had an appetizer of the chicken wings. They were very good. The portion was 5 meaty wings with a nice glaze. For my main course, I had the tuna which was cooked to perfection - almost raw, but warm, on the inside and seared on the outside. It tasted fresh and divine. The ribs were good, but we like a smoked rib taste, so should not have ordered them. We enjoyed a good bottle of wine at a reasonable price. Our service was good enough. The waitress was taking care of quite a few tables. She was well organized, but busy. Yet she took time with each table to give them the time and service necessary. We always make it a point to eat here once on the week-end we are visiting. Some meals are better than others. I think the appetizers are the most creative cooking at the cafe, and one could easily make a meal choosing 2 or 3 of them.

“Really Really Spectacular”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

Four of us dined here on October 4th, 2013. It was the first day for their new menu. We found out they switch things up every 3 months or so. With that in mind, we kinda expected a few hits and misses. To our amazement, everything was excellent. Instead of using the terms appetizers and entrees, they use "small plates" and "big plates". We ended up with several small plates and there was enough food to feed an army. The service was excellent to boot. I can't wait to return for more.

“I feel like they are loosing their touch menu is Blah at best”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2013

Ate their tonight, meal was average at best, their menu did not match their online menu. We drove 30 min to get there, only to have average service at best! Food was uneventful, appetizer that we usually love, was bland and cold. Both of our dinners had potatoes that were ice cold. Just an all around disappointment. They had a big party in the back and we just never saw out waiter. I've been dining there for years and I feel like they are getting lazy. Give us more choices for goodness sake this isn't London. Put me in the unimpressed file this food is just YUCK!!
