We booked this property for Memorial Day weekend of 2011 for our annual theater company Retreat & sent a $200 payment. Due to the economy we had to cancel our reservation, In April, more than 30 days before the booking. The owner & manager, Scott Hawkins, told me he would refund our payment.
It has been almost 3 months and I am still waiting! We are a small Not-For-Profit Theater company and that money is very important to us!
In one of my many phone calls to him asking for our money to be returned, Hawkins admitted he had re-rented the property for the time period (not that that has anything to do with us being owed our money- we canceled within the accepted period).
What kind of person steals money from a Non-Profit group of artists? A complaint has been filed with the Michigan Better Business Bureau.
