This property is the shiny new jewel of downtown Detroit. They took a hundred year old building that had been closed for thirty years and completely redid it. The result is a lux historic hotel that is worth the trip.
It is a historic hotel but with the Westin name and furnishings has turned into an updated, elegant, hip property. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Well appointed guestrooms with Westin's Heavenly Bedding and Showers. Very nice. Huge living room/bar off the lobby that is a great place to spend an afternoon. Food and beverage offerings are first rate.
Greek Town and the ball parks are within walking distance. It's the best place to stay right now in downtown Detroit.
