The interior of this building, lovingly restored, is stunningly beautiful, almost overwhelming. What a delight.
Seating is fine; it's not plush, but my family and I find it comfortable enough. (If you can sit through 3.5 hrs of Aida, as we recently did, and not mind the seating, it's got to be ok).
Ushers and other staff are very friendly and helpful.
The performances are wonderfully staged with outstanding sets and first class performers. Dr. DiChiera deserves the highest praise for bring the MOT to life and for bringing the highest quality dance and opera to Detroit and SE Michigan,
An added benefit is the large, clean, attended, well-lighted parking structure across the street which belongs to the MOT, with a modest $10 parking charge and very easy access. Once you park you can be in the theater in 5 minutes, and in your seat in 10.
