I stayed here for two nights for a psychology internship interview at the Henry Ford Hospital. They gave me a reduced rate because of that, plus there was a free shuttle to and from the hospital. The place was beautiful, clean, and friendly, the internet was free, and the breakfast was free and great. However, the location and amenities are not the best. It is far away from the airport, so the taxi ride to/from the airport cost a bit of money. Plus, it is situated in a residential area, without nearby places to eat (i.e. as opposed to a more typical hotel, which often shares a parking lot with food places). I'm sure most people would love the ambience, but I am just not a "antique inn" type of person. It looked, felt, and smelled like a little old lady - not in a bad way, just not my style - I don't like lots of lace and odd dark colors, slanted ceilings, frilly curtains, wrought iron fixtures, etc. Oddly, there were parts of the upper windows without curtains, so I could not make it completely dark at night. I asked for a wake-up call both nights, but it only worked one night. However, I am staying there again for another Detroit interview in a week, because of the free shuttle, internet, breakfast, service, etc.
