“Nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

This place is one of the restaurants featured on Diners, Driveins and Dives. Yes, the pizza had thin crust. Yes, the place is a small Dive right in the Eastern Market. But the pizza was just average. We had the City Wing Thing like on TV. Very little smoked turkey and very little smoked Gouda. We did get a table to eat at, but not good enough for the hour drive we had. I would not go again. There are other places around the Eastern Market that are much better.

“Pizza is worth the trip but be prepared for stressful dining area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

This is not Detroit-style pizza, which is square or rectangular and thick, with a crispy crust. This is Italian-style, with a crispy thin crust and fresh toppings. You might consider it New York style except it's superior to pies in NY. No question the product is excellent. But be prepared to stand in line and unless you come at off-times to have to peer over the shoulders of diners and scramble for vacated seats. Not a peaceful dining situation. There's a high top communal table, maybe three or four for four or a few more and a couple of tables in the window for 2 or 3. A little too high pressure for easy digestion. Did I say the pizza is outstanding? Great toppings and an incomparable crust with some bite-but not too much--that can stand up to the great toppings.

“The best pizza in SE Michigan”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

If you like thin crust pizza, you need to try this place in Eastern Market. It is worth the drive. They have THE BEST thin crust pizza I have ever had. I normally prefer deep dish or even Chicago stuffed pizza. But this place is just so amazing. The pizza is not your standard pizza, although I suppose you could custom order just a cheese and pepperoni. They have unique (for me) pizzas I have never heard of before. But they work. (One of the pizzas even comes with egg on it. I tried one and it was surprisingly good. Who would have thought?)

The one drawback, aside from the fact that it is tucked away in an out of the way location, is that it is a TINY little pizzeria. On a number of occasions, we have had to share tables with other diners. In a sense, this adds to the quirkiness of the place. In another sense, you can wait for a very long time, just to get a seat, here. They could easily fill a place 3-4 times as large. But then they would need to hire more staff, because they would be kicking out pies.

I cannot wait to go back!

“Average Pizza”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

Grabbed a few slices here with some buddies as it was recommended by some locals. We are big pizza eaters & were not really impressed with what we got. Perhaps a fresh pizza would have been better & the place was rammed with people so I won't write the place off until I've had a pizza and not just slices.
