“Great Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2013

I visited the museum this past summer. The tour guide was awesome. She was very young and quite knowledgeable about the place, the history and the musical legends that started their careers at this house. The tour was very interactive and incorporated crowd participation of singing throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed the museum. Of course, everyone should wait and take a picture in front of the Hitsville.

“Just GO...don't even think about it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2013

Amazing experience from the moment you walked through the door. A great place full of history and to think that so many famous artists started off in this humble abode was something that hit me initially. Our tour guide was sensational, she eve found time to get us all singing along to many of Motown's classics. It was great value for money and if you are in Downtown Detroit, don't hesitate to go!

“You'll be awestruck”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

I am ashamed to say that I used to work within a few blocks of this place and never passed by, on a return trip to Detroit after moving away a decade ago, this was first stop on my list. What a gem and such a bright spot in otherwise decaying Detroit. I just couldn't get over what those people did to make such incredible music with so little! The pictures and the way everything was set up made you feel like you were right there in the 60's with them , and the photographs amazing. The only thing I didn't like, and I do understand where the staff is coming from-is that it's a guided tour and once you've passed, that's it. I wanted to linger so much longer and take it all in. Well worth the effort I made to go there and I hope one day Detroit will come back to the glory days of when Motown was coming into being.

“Be The Star!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

This museum is tour based - tours are about 45 minutes and informative without being overbearing. The guide that I had was young but very knowledgeable and able to answer lots of questions. The tour concludes in the original recording studio where the tour group gets to sing a Motown Classic. This place a treasured part of American History and the tour is worth the time.

“Music history comes alive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

This museum is well worth the visit! For any fan of music, not just Motown, this place will amaze you. Music history lives in this place; it is the actual studio where the majority of the Motown artists recorded their classics. The guides are all extremely well informed and will be able to answer every question. They will literally have you singing, snapping, and clapping to the beat!
