“Best sandwiches EVER!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2014

Mudgie's is our go-to lunch spot when we are visiting Detroit. I wish we had this place where I live!!
The food is fresh, home-style, creative cooking. It offers me delicious and fresh gluten-free options, and they are generous with their portions. We usually leave here stuffed, and with no room for dessert!!
Their sandwich combos are creative, interesting, and healthy (for the most part)... even the "unhealthier" options you don't feel too bad about, because you know they have made it all right there in their kitchen... and they seem to be conscious people who care about what they serve their customers.
The service has always been decent, sometimes great!
Quick tip: go on off hours... there are sometimes line-ups out the door!
If you are ever in the Detroit area and long for a delicious lunch to stay and eat or take away, Mudgie's is the place to go!!

“BEST Sandwiches”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2014

These sandwiches are amazing. They are filling, layered with toppings that make flavours burst as you eat... always a filling meal.
The restaurant is quaint, a little tricky to find on a first visit - but you'll never forget after that! It's so delicious. I've tried the salads, the soups... but when you get a hankering for a good sandwich this is the place to go.
A few years ago they did a state per week, featuring a new, (some brave), sandwich to showcase the state of the week... it was awesome, had me calling / checking facebook just to salivate over what new creations would come each week. Brilliant.
My favs, the Presley (turkey and coleslaw), Sy ginsing (corn beef & coleslaw), Mudgie (chicken and glorious toppings), Sho'nuff (jam&cream chz taking chicken on a new adventure, so good!)
The service is good, it gets pretty busy. It is a little pricey for a sandwich - but, it's all local fresh ingredients, free range chicken (i think), and the sandwich is so awesome, I think you are kind of paying for the experience of eating such a pile of awesome.
** The also have a brunch on Sunday.
Enjoy!

“Great trendy deli”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2014

Enormous menu with reasonable prices. Someone said it's pricey, but it's not. Fresh food, good soups, cute atmosphere. Thanks to places like this that are bringing people into Corktown.

“Great experience, food, and interesting food/drink menus, but pricey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2014

I had a wonderful time here and my food was very good. The menu will take a while to review and is an interesting take on sandwiches, soups, & salads. They have a lot of variety on ciders and brews to choose from. Very small interior and it can be loud when full. If there is a wait, it's worth it. The meal took a bit of time to be served to us, but they were busy. My meal was tasty and filling. Quality ingredients were used and locally sourced whenever possible. I was surprised at the final bill for what we got, but good quality is more expensive to serve. I will be back, but now I know that it will not be a cheap lunch and will be prepared for that.

“Sunday Brunch. Just Meh.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2014

It was just ok. Nothing particularly special but they have lots of healthy choices. I went during Sunday brunch so they had a limited menu. I'd give this place another chance during the week to give it a fair shake. A plus is the sell alcoholic beverages. The atmosphere is cool and laid back but could use a bit of detailed cleaning. The building is small so you may have to wait if it's busy.
