“Pretty hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2012

Overall, the hotel was very nice. We had a great view from our room. I was pleasantly surprised with Bistro 555. I was expecting, because of the free breakfast passes, that it would be sub par. I was able to find something to eat, despite being a vegetarian. Valet service was good. The rooms were a little awkwardly set up though. Bed was extremely comfortable.

For the most part, all staff encountered were friendly and nice. The woman who checked us in was a bit snippy with us. That was a bit annoying, but tolerable. There was one thing that I didn't like at all. When paying for your reservation, they place a 100$ hold on your credit card. Seeing as how I was traveling, I only brought two cards and because of that hold, my one card was short a 100$ for the remainder of my vacation.

Room Tip: Choose a room on higher floor - great view.

Just OK! The room looked beautiful but the layout was terrible! The a/c vent blows directly on the bed. The 1/2-3/4 sized bathroom held the shower and toilet with the hand sink out in an open area. This room design for a single person. As I said -it is really beautiful but was impracticable for my purposes. Tacky that no fridge/microwave was available. No shower caps, one small bar of soap. FANTASTIC location which is close to Detroit's business district and great restaurants. I greatly appreciated the parking, the free WiFi, fitness and one breakfast! I was disappointed with the room but the rest was fantastic. I am a native Detroiter who recently relocated and I really am cheering for my city to make a positiive comeback.

Room Tip: Would highly recommend for solo person.

Two-night stay for recent business meeting. Did not go to casino, so can't speak to that. Very impressed with room, view, location. Close enough to walk to Greektown restaurants and the Detroit River walk/state park. Room very clean and well appointed.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a southern view -- you may be able to see Detroit River & Windsor, Canada on...

Unsafe for multi-racial couples. Staff is unprofessional and hostile. This hotel is perfect for Detroiters - for others, stay at the Westin or in the suburbs - you'll be treated with respect and professionally. There's a reason people are moving out of the city.

We stayed here for our anniversary, room was ok, not half as nice as Motor City, but I love Greektown casino much better than motor city casino. Bed was great, really comfy, no fridge to put leftovers, etc.. It's a mini bar and I was scared to take anything out, lol. Walls are paper thin, for real!! We were on the 29th floor and we had a great view, but at 8 am we started hearing a jackhammer and some major noise from the construction outside, it was actually shaking the walls, and at 11am vacuuming in the hallway, needless to say we didn't get much sleep. We love Greektown Casino, especially the poker room, where you can get snacks and pop and coffee if you are playing, it's just a really great set up. If this was a hotel not attached to Greektown I probably wouldn't go back until the construction was over. It was a Monday when we stayed, it wasent packed and I'm sure they could have put us on the side where there was no construction!

Room Tip: Ask to be on the other side, away from construction!!
