This is an excellent museum (especially for the price!). It is across the street from the art museum, so it is not out of the way by any means. There are a good number of exhibits, and almost all that we saw were interesting. I think we went through in about an hour and a half, but we could have easily spent twice that. Another perk is that the bathrooms are really nice and really clean! I also like the idea of learning about the places I visit; it seems like sometimes I go places and end up going to natural history musuems, science museums, aquariums, zoos, and general historical museums. While I learn a lot, it is rarely anything unique to the region or city. I really liked that I was able to learn a lot about Detroit while visiting. Parking is available on the street and is not at all outragous (I don't remember what we paid, maybe $1?) and you shouldn't have to worry about fighting the crowds like at some museums. All in all, it is definately worth an hour and a half of your time!
