“Great ambiance. HIstoric setting.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

The room is adequate. The buffet breakfast was good and service was prompt. The best part of this hotel is it's location across the street from The Henry Ford and its historicity. It's the best place to stay if you plan a family or business visit to Dearborn and the Henry Ford Museum. Book a package that includes breakfast and museum tickets--a better deal.

Comfortable vintage & charming. If you ask for something, the staff is gracious. Don't expect more than what it appears to offer. Enjoy the historic building for what it is. We stayed only one night each stay, this was our second time, but would recommend it to anyone who asked.

I really want to like this place given its history and the location close to the museum and village. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be well managed. Upon check in found the bed cover throw to be badly stained. Upon entry into the bathroom found toilet brush on floor...plus no paper. Reported the problem to the front desk and gent at the desk was appalled...but nothing happened (put both items in the hall and hunted down a cart for paper). Next day it took forever to get the room serviced. We stayed with a group (July 19 & 20) and they had similar experiences (not just confined to housekeeping issues). As a rewards member I find it curious that I never received a follow-up survey as is typical with Marriott stays. I travel frequently and this is the first time that I've written a review and the first time I received this level of consistent poor service.

The hotel manager, Bob Pearce, is stellar and certainly sets a great servant example to his entire staff. This hotel offers a very gracious experience starting with the lovely large reception room with fireplace. The food was excellent and the service outstanding. We wandered through the gardens with homes of famous American authors on site. I would highly recommend the Dearborn Inn.

I, too, was not sure what to expect after reading the reviews. Our experience, two couples, with our rooms for our recent three night stay was excellent. A great blend of a historic location with all needed amenities and more. The concierge floor experience was perfect...light breakfast, early evening offerings, and desserts later were perfect to supplement our meal choices off property. The one improvement I'd prefer would be firmer beds.

The always available shuttle van to The Henry Ford and Dearborn Village was very convenient. In addition, the front desk personnel quickly provided a table cloth so we could play dominoes on one of the courtyard tables.....so we wouldn't have to lose them through the umbrella hole!

One evening while having a drink in the bar, we asked our server for a nearby seafood restaurant suggestion and she immediately said, "Big Fish" and followed up with details. Great choice for both the hotel and restaurant.

We will return.

A four night stay during our annual global conference.
Good service and food, nice room's and accommodating staff.
My room was next door to the outdoor pool which looked nice, but we never had time to try....

Given the mixed reviews on tripadvisor, I didn't know what to expect. But I was very pleasantly surprised. Our upgraded room (concierge jr suite) was spacious, clean and in good condition. The public areas of the hotel are beautiful and pristine. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant offered a nice selection of items --especially seasonal fresh fruit. The swimming pool was very big and my entire family enjoyed swimming. The Henry Ford museum is across the street and the hotel provides a free door to door shuttle service which was very convenient. The Henry ford museum package offered by the hotel is a an amazing deal. It includes admission to the museum AND greenfield village for two. And breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children. We took the package for 2 nights so that we had admission for my husband and myself as well as my 2 daughters, and breakfast both days in the restaurant (even though we could have had breakfast in the concierge lounge for free. The restaurant was so much more beautiful and spacious than the concierge lounge and offered cook to order omelettes too! ). I've stayed at many marriotts, including several jw marriotts-- and this one is one of the best!
