First off, we have eaten here before. The waiter was a really nice guy and indicated that we really hadn't eaten here before, because they had really stepped things up. Sure looked the same. A large business meeting was going on in one of the rooms. Getting a drink at the bar - even though nobody was there, we a real chore. Even though things were supposedly stepped up, the wine choice was not available. However, our waiter was definitely primed to sell a more expensive bottle. Since they were out of our choice - I suggested they match the price of the one they didn't have (it was within $7 of our choice). He shrugged and indicated that this was not an option. Off to a bad start already. Had lots of guests, so wasn't going to make a scene. My lobster risotto was like Kraft macaroni and cheese.
Honestly, the experience wasn't bad, but the manager really turned me off. After dinner, I asked to speak with her. It took here 20 minutes to arrive and sure seemed to be an inconvenience to her to even show up. A real dud. Not a real manager. It literally pained her to deal with the wine matter. I watched as she had a strategy session with the waiter - who by the way had added 20% to the bill automatically. Not cool. Automatic is slightly acceptable at 18.5%, not 20%. In the end, "the manager" did the right thing, but acted like it was a favor. The atmosphere and the overall feeling is a drag here. I would not recommend. Clearly a laggard.
