“Not inspiring”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2012

I hope Crown are going to improve the facilities and the service of all attractions at Burswood, as the Crown Promenade is hardly inspring at present. The roadworks out the front and having both hotels arrive at the front of one is an absolute nightmare. Hurry up and finish!!

The hotel itself could be anywhere and of any marque. It is very uninspiring all round. Room service was average, facilities average, service average (apart from one member of the concierge team).

The best part though, was returning from work on a cold wintry night and battling with my gloves, laptop, etc and trying to find my room key in my bag. The concierge quickly arranged the lift and the floor and I was warmly "welcomed home".

Hotel ambience - everage. Can improve further. First impression is very important here.
Hotel Surronding - rather unorganised with so many construction going on - cheaper rate would better. Environment is very dusty outside.
Pool - small. Interior deco can be much improved with par with Crown Melbourne.
Room cleanliness - very good. Overall staffs are very friendly, especially cleaning staff at Level 4 - they were excellent.

I live in Perth, so I understand accommodation is limited and prices are high, but I don't understand how Crown Promenade earned 4.5 stars. Surely international guests would be quite horrified to stay here, given what a 4.5 star hotel looks like in other parts of the world.

It's a 3 star. Crown Promenade is an airport hotel - somewhere business men would stay for a stop over. Don't expect luxury, attention to detail, or personalized service. It's fine, but it's worlds away from the 4.5 star it purports to be.

Yes, there is still construction going on, but that doesn't bother me - it's not loud, and although it makes for an ugly view, it means they're upgrading something in the Burswood complex, which has to be a positive.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, it has every basic amenity you should need - hair dryer, ironing board and iron, kettle, tea, coffee, overpriced mini bar, slippers, robes, tv (movies on demand for a quaint $16.95). The room service menu is very very basic, and not all that nice. And comes with a 'tray service charge' of $4, which I believe they charge to both deliver AND collect your tray. I really hate that - just absorb the cost into the food prices if you're that desperate for the money. It's so pathetic, looking for those few extra dollars at every corner. Like the Wi-Fi they let you connect to without a password - how convenient! It's only if you read the information file do you find out that 'charges apply'.

In room breakfast is around $30 per person, and comes with that sort of aeroplane food quality that's hard to trust. Get out of bed and go to Atrium, and make sure to pay the guest rate of $37 for breakfast - or walk to East Perth and go to a cafe!

Basic room rate was $195, but by having room service breakfast and dinner (1 wedges, 1 pasta, NO alcohol) we managed to accumulate an extra $160 worth of charges!

If you are staying here - use your room only to sleep. Your money is better spent having dinner at Rockpool (it is exquisite and the service is fantastic), and playing $10 Blackjack at the casino - not Blackjack Plus! :)

The best part about this place is rock pool. Would recommend to people who like casinos / gambling. Rooms overlook carpark & construction site. Pool is also in a pretty weird spot, infinity pool that looks over the carpark ramp.

we stayed for 3 nights in early july 2012. we had to lug our bags into our room.we were on the 1st floor next to reception which was convenient but noisy. when I booked in January it was the holiday inn and and inc breakfast. The hotel had no record of this at all and it was only that I prodcued proof with my booking that they eventually included it after questioning on 3 separate occasions every morning. it was very conven to the airport and the casino and once all casino renos are done it will be great. we had to lug our bags out of the room on checkout also. the room was ok but the exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work and it was constantly fogged up.

Room Tip: probably get a king room we got a queen deluxe no smoking which put us on ground floor right near re...

The complex has everything you need all in one spot. Loved the free parking outside. The staff were very friendly and professional with my requests. Breakfast was outstanding.
