“Great walk.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2013

Dovestones reservoir has a path going around it, which is about 2.5 miles long. The path is well made allowing an easy walk. The scenery is great. We saw a young Peregrine Falcon whilst we were there, so there is wildlife to look out for. The RSPB have been busy in the area and some parts are fenced off to allow plants to grow and for wildlife to flourish. There is a decent sized car park but it does get full at weekends. There are also toilets but they are a bit basic! At weekends there is also a burger/tea van which does a good trade.

“Beautiful spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013 via mobile

Lovely for a stroll round this stunning area, the walk round the reservoir is approx 2.5 miles. The RSPB have snippets of information dotted around which makes for interesting reading.
Saw the young peregrine sat in a nearby tree which was a treat.
The car park is @ 60p and there are toilet facilities next to the car park although have to say these were not in the best condition!

“Beautiful walks and scenery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013 via mobile

Beautiful area with very dramatic rocks such as Indians head and the dove stone. You can walk around the reservoir in about 45 minutes or go for a hike up to the higher reservoirs or to the top of Indians head if you want something a bit more challenging but you do a bit of clambering the higher up you go. Beautiful sunsets as well. Ideally combined with a visit to one of the excellent pub restaurants in saddleworth.

“Dovestones Delight.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

Visited Dovestones Reservoir on a wet Sunday, for first time. Would have extended our walk further into the hills had it not been for the bad weather. Nice views. Lovely place to get away from the city. Must return on a dry day to fully appreciate it. Car park charge seemed reasonable. Looking forward to returning there to enjoy the area.

“Cheap parking and excellent walks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

The web site is well informed and correct. Various lengths of walks to suit families, disabled and 'proper' walkers. My husband did the 4 km walk after having a new hip 2 months ago.
