We stayed at the cabin (not the Lodge) for a week and loved it. It is very well maintained, sunny and private. On a colder day we used the fireplace and electric heating and it kept it very warm. The lake is across the road, a short walk to several small rocky beaches. Bigger, sandy beaches are a short drive away. Copper Harbor restaurants, post office, grocery store, light house harbor, park and various trails are all also a short drive or bike ride away. There is a good number of bike riding trails and hiking trails that are all very safe. A bike rental place in Copper Harbor has a good selection of bikes and provides all needed information. This has been one of the best active vacations for our family in a very quiet and scenic area. There is no cell phone service in this area but the owners at the Lodge have a phone we were allowed to use. The phone service is back a few miles down the road towards Eagle Harbor. Most restaurants in Copper Harbor have wifi and provide passwords so you can upload your emails! The cabin has only one bathroom but we found it ideal despite that. We kept the windows open every night listening to the waves - truly a great place.
