Linda, the owner was very helpful in assisting with the menu choices and scheduling of our recent family luncheon. We went with a family style menu as suggested, which included the meal soup to nuts, but soft drinks and coffee were extra. Our party of approximately 20 arrived and we were seated promptly. We had 3 servers attending our group. They were friendly, attentive and prompt with service. Bread baskets were served with sliced Italian bread and software garlic rolls, both were good. The minestrone was tasty, with lots of chunky vegetables, no pasta or beans though, which everyone missed. The salad was basic, iceberg with tomato wedge and cucumber slice, Italian and ranch dressings were fine. The penne pasta course was freshly cooked: meat sauce was tasty, light on the meat. The tomato cream sauce was very tasty, I think our group enjoyed this one most overall. The pasta was cooked well. The meat course: Chicken Parmesan was freshly prepared with plenty of sauce and gooey cheese...enjoyed by everyone. Chicken Piccata....this was excellent as well, lots of mushrooms and artichokes in a light flavorful sauce (this was actually more brothy, could have been slightly more thickened). Many in our party would have preferred to have both pasta and meat courses served and eaten together, but this would have been cumbersome to do with the limited amount of space on our tables. The service of the courses was a little too quick for our group, we would have liked a bit more time between courses. There was a long stretch of time before dessert was served, which was awkward. Mini cannoli were served to each person from a large plate by one server, at first by hand but we had no dessert plates. She had to place a napkin down then place the cannoli. After another server saw what was happening, she started picking them up with the napkin so they landed upside down....just not a good way to serve and it took way too long to get around to everyone. The cannoli were nothing to rave about, crunchy shell, but a bit too thick. The filling was puddingish, with cinnamon and sliced almonds on each end. During the luncheon drinks were refilled promptly. The leftover food was packaged nicely for us to take home. Overall, I would say for a crowd we enjoyed it. The pastas and meat courses were the highlight and I would recommend them. I have hardly been to a luncheon like this where everything is perfect. Given the service, quality of the food and meal content and nice family atmosphere I would recommend this for a large family group.
