From the outside this looks just like your average local pub. There’s a decent outdoor garden in the back, and they’re nicely doggie-friendly. Good. First test passed. However, step inside and you will enter a different world, not as far as décor, which is definitely typical of a country pub, but it’s the food that surprises. Yes, many pubs offer up Thai food, but at the Churchill Arms this is the REAL deal. I know Thai cuisine very well indeed having frequented Thai restaurants all over the globe (includes Bangkok of course) and cooked Thai food quite extensively for over 20 years. This was truly authentic, with enough selection and variety to keep you wanting to return. The portions were huge so we of course managed to over order. The noodle dish- Lad Na Talay Seafood was especially memorable. What lovely, gracious service too. The owner was very helpful, providing us with tastes of a couple of the wines so that we could select what really worked with the food. Best of all, it was staggering distance from Long Crendon Manor, so we shall return next time we’re there for sure.
