“Museum okay for adults”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

We stopped during the week before our matinee play at the Purple rose. The display cases were interesting (despite the misspelled words in the placard descriptions...) but we were disappointed to learn that the bears are sent to China for assembling. The clerk said their facility cannot handle their production volume and that it
would be too costly to assemble in the U.S., so they're sent overseas. Too bad.

“Call First”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

We arrived at the Chelsea Teddy Bear Factory at noon on a Saturday. Unfortunately, tours were at 11AM, 1PM and 3PM and during the week by appointment. I thought it would be a larger operation than it was. You essentially enter the store and there are some museum pieces along the wall. Also, there are large viewing windows where you can watch the workers, except on Saturday, when there's no one back there. So, you are left with the store, which is OK if your intent is to buy from a wide variety of teddy bears, teddy bear outfits and other paraphernalia. If not, then just skip this place, or call ahead to make arrangements to view the place when it's in full operating mode.

“disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2012

Went hoping to tour the factory, tours were closed that day, even though it had been advertised otherwise. Bears are cute, but most items were overpriced.

“A factory--not”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2012

It was a store with glass viewing windows, albeit very large windows, into the "factory" that may or may not have something going on.
