“Wonderful Dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

OK, so it is a bit out of the way, and bear in mind it is a seasonal opening place...but make the trip. Soy milkshakes (a rarity and SO good), fresh meaty burgers and whitefish to die for. I ate so much of the fish I couldn't manage any pudding which is a regret as the cheesecake was excellent! I wish we had found it on our first night - we'd have been here every night.
The server was great and the chef came out for a chat too - fascinating guy. I hope they continue to do well, as this place is a gem.

“Stellar food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

This Upper Peninsula gem is well worth the trip if you're anywhere around Munising.

Do what we did and start with milkshakes. One maple and one cherry blossom. They were unique and incredibly good.

Burgers from local beef come in quarter or half-pound versions with a number of options. The blue cheese and bacon turned out to be a good choice. The bun comes from a nearby bakery.

Jodee had the BLT on limpa bread, which is a Swedish light rye. If you're thinking a BLT sounds good don't hesitate to get this one.

We both opted for the baked potato soup as a side. It was rich and creamy and leaned more toward a casserole than a soup, which is a good thing.

They make the desserts. Bread pudding and cheesecake when we were there. They, alone, are worth the trip.

“Great Breakfast spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

Had a delicious breakfast on Sunday @ brunch time. I ordered the finnish pancake which came with REAL maple syrup and also fresh homemade strawberry preserves. Others ordered Italian skillets, meat lovers skillet and just plain ole eggs and hash browns which came with fresh bakery toast. Delicious. It is a small restaurant but they have a porch to eat on in the summer too.

“Went back twice in two days! Yum!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

We stumbled across this surprisingly great place (located in a really cool historic building) after going to Laughing Whitefish Falls, and we took a friend back the next day! Local, fresh, seasonal food. Everything from their delicious cherry BBQ sauce, to their maple vinaigrette salad dressing, to the to-die-for bread pudding is homemade and locally-sourced. I hope this family business can survive. Please go try it!

“Glad we stopped for lunch!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

We stopped here for lunch after seeing the Eben Ice Caves and we are very happy we did. The owners were very friendly and made for great conversation. Their chili was to die for with just the right amount of spice/flavor. I had their grilled whitefish sandwich, which was also very tasty and on very good bread. You can tell they care a lot about their recipes and try to please people's palates. And the hot chocolates were another huge hit with some of the best flavored whipped cream we've ever had. If we are in the area again, we will definitely stop in for some grub.
