My wife grew up in Laurium, so we venture back quite often, and I try and see something new in the Keweenaw every time we head up there. So when we were there for Christmas this year, we decided to check out the Keweenaw National Historical Park. Well, we were a tad disappointed... that we didn't give ourselves enough time! I mean, this building is completely stuffed with history. I won't try and tell even a tiny bit of it here, just know that there is a lot to learn about the Keweenaw and the Upper Peninsula. The exhibits are top notch, and I think people of all ages will love to come here, as much as the locals like to discuss how much was spent in making it. If you are visiting the Peninsula and are experimenting some weather that's keeping you inside, if you are wondering what to do in the middle of the day visiting your kid at MTU, or iif you are spending some time roaming around the shops in Calumet, stop by, and get ready to feel closer to the towns, the people, and the history of Copper Country.
