We have stayed at Centennial Cottages two times during the last 3 years, each about 8 to 10 days, to do xc skiing at Swedetown Ski trails in Calumet. We find it the best option in Calumet to meet our needs.
The cottages are not luxurious, but clean and well maintained. We really like staying there because:
• Great location. Only 10 min. drive to the Swedetown ski trail (the prettiest trails in the area); 20 min. drive to the Michigan Tech trails in Houghton (hillier but less pretty trails); 15 min. drive to Peterson's Fishery where we can get fresh lake trout and white fish caught on the day.
• Fully equipped kitchen w/ oak cabinets and pantry: it has all necessary cooking utensils, pots/pans, dishes, tableware, salt and pepper, even paper towel! We prefer cooking our own food, so this is essential to us.
• Quiet. In the beginning, I was a bit concerned about potential noises from snow mobiles. It turned out that it was not a problem at all. The place was very quiet.
• Hard working and nice owners. The drive way and entrance were always kept clear of snow (Calumet snows everyday!); Extra things the owners put in to make the cottage more comfortable: a mat in front of the kitchen sink, shelf in the bathroom, flat panel TV w/ built in DVD.
• Fast internet connection
