“Our go to place to ski!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2014

We went over MLK weekend and had a blast! First time staying on-site and it was so convenient. We loved the lockers available to keep our skis and boots in - they even had boot driers! It was a little busier than when we normally go during the week, but still not overly crowded. We went with my husband's family and we had young kids with us learning to ski. Everyone had a great time. Caberfae is our favorite place to ski.

“Snowboarding trip”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2014

My friend and I decided to do a spur of the moment snowboarding trip, We got up to Caberfae quite early and were able to check in. The room was quite basic, old tv, no phone, non electronic keys, no elevator. However it was nice that they had a gear locker for the room. Also the staff was very pleasant to interact with. As for snowboarding the hills are pretty good. Lots of trails you can take so you do not have to take the same one over and over again.

Jacob S: Thank you for staying with us. Yes, we do have very basic accommodations, but that is what makes it so special. No phones in the room are a great way to get away from it all and enjoy the beauty of being in the middle of the Manistee National Forrest. For those that want to stay "connected," we do offer free WiFi for our guests. We renovated the lobby this past summer, along with Beatie's Bar & Grill, and plan to do some more renovations this summer as well.

“Not Vail, but not bad!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2014

We hung out here for a few days while the kids and grand kids snowboarded. This is not a large resort like Vail or Steamboat, but it has some pretty good slopes and the lodge is nice. The food is good and not at all overpriced as is usually the case at a ski lodge. The parking is plentiful and everything (rentals/lifts) are very convenient. It is a well managed resort and worth the trip if in the area.

“Good Value Hill, Great for Families”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014

The price on Friday couldn't be beat. It was a great deal.
The lodge has a nice area where families had crock pots going, food and gear spread everywhere, and laughter filled the air. It was a very nice family place.

The hill offers a decent variety of terrain difficulty, everyone from beginners to seasoned skiers can find something fun here.

My biggest complaint as the lack of interesting features on the hill. It seemed like most of the runs were groomed smooth and level, which is fine, but a little bit of creativity along the edges would really help. I enjoy finding lips between runs, or on the edge near trees where you can get some pop. I only found 2 or 3 places on the hill where people were hitting small jumps.

The north hill provides the best terrain here in my book - working through the trees or around the longer runs to either side off the lift were fun.

No real terrain park (4 or 5 small features on one run), so if thats your thing, its not for you.

Its a great place for an affordable, quiet day on the hill.

Cmr013: We pride ourselves on providing value to our skiers and snowboarders and thank you for recognizing that. As for your comment on our slopes, try out our new Backcountry Terrain. It is all ungroomed and full of interesting natural features. We also have a mogul line on Bullet, over on South Peak, if you like moguls on steep terrain. The two terrain parks are definitely not the biggest in the state, but they are very safe and well maintained. Thank you for visiting!

“Great For Families”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2014

I Totally disagree with the other reviews of the Lodge area. We have been going to Caberfae for several years and absolutely love it. The staff and Owners are great and have done everything possible to help us every single time we have been there! We enjoy bringing a "packed" lunch or crock pot to help our family save money and Caberfae Peaks understands that, not like most other resorts that do not allow food brought from home. While we are out Skiing/boarding other people sit at the table our crock pot is on and eat their lunch. As far as I am concerned it is their table as much as anybody else's and there seems to be no problem when ever I have been there. We absolutely Love the place.
