“Our favorite ski resort!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

It may not be the biggest, but it is our family's favorite place to ski. First and foremost, the value for weekend passes can't be beat! The trails offer a great variety for any type of skier/snowboarder. They have a day lodge that is perfect for setting up a table for the day. Over the years it is becoming much harder to claim a table. After 4pm tables do start to open up again. I would love to see the resort expand their day lodge area.
We have always found the staff in all departments to be exceptional. Even on the busiest days the resort is clean and well run. We are excited to see that they are adding new runs. We always look forward to spending our winters at Caberfae Peaks.

Thank you for commenting and Caberfae is our favorite ski resort too! In the event that you can't get a picnic table in our main lodge, note that we do have a second lodge, called the Skyview Lodge, in which we allow our guests to bring in picnic lunches and crock pots It is located on the north end of the rental building. Thanks again and we hope to see you back on our slopes.

“Third visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

Celebrated my big 5 0 this past weekend at Cabby and had a blast! This was my third birthday weekend spent there and while I could have gone skiing anywhere else in the state, there wasn't a question where I wanted to party! I love the downlow atmosphere, great skiing, friendly staff and the best value in Michigan. Yes, the rooms are dated, but they are clean and comfy. The pool and hot tub have been a great place to relax apres ski and we have always met fun people there. Staff is cheerful and accommodating, especially Beth at the front desk - but she's a Grand Haven gal so you know she's awesome! Hope to get back again this year but if not, we'll be there for my birthday next year!

“value skiing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

Caberfe is smaller ski area with an accordingly smaller price. Great for an off day when you do not want to ski all day. The far slope is black only, and the near slope is all green, so for intermediate skiiers there is basically one lift with several different ways down. Ask for the college student discount and the senior discount.

“Low-key family fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

Very impressed on my first visit to Caberfae! The slopes were very well groomed, lift lines were no longer than 5 minutes during the 2 weekdays I was there, and the prices were affordable. Great deals online...check out ladies day and silver streak (0ver 50) as well as college days discounts. No problem getting these discounts, but you have to ask for them at the ticket booth since they are only advertised on their website. Elevation doesn't compare to Eastern resorts in Vermont, but a very fun relaxing, couple of days for Michigan Skiing. Friendly staff! Seems to be in a sort of snow belt that gets lake effect snow more than elsewhere.

Thanks for visiting! Yes, with our high elevation and close proximity to Lake Michigan, we definitely reap the benefits of several lake effect snowfalls during the season. We average around 140" each season!

“Pretty Good for Michigan skiing!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

We went for an overnight at Caberfae to get our children ready for a trip to Colorado. The resort took a lot of time to make a good base of snow, and then the actual snow came along, and made for a good 2 days of skiing!

We stayed overnight on-site, which I don't really recommend. It was clean, but very old, and worn out.

The tow rope slope was pretty short and small, making it hard for little ones to get any rhythm going before starting over. Lines for the lifts were pretty short for midweek, I never had to wait! Way less crowded than I thought it would be.

the Lodge was pretty nice for warming up and hanging out. They allow you to bring in your own coolers, crockpots, etc. The cafeteria was ok, pricey as they all are.

Thank you for skiing with us. Thank you for noticing our snow base as we have invested very heavily in our snowmaking system over the last several years, and as a result, consistently have great snow on our slopes.
