“15 people Family Style Quality BBQ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2014

The service was only surpassed by the food. We had 15 hungry guys so we ordered family style for 17 guys. It was the perfect amount of food. We did choose to start with an order of wings which were amazing.
I definitely recommend you come for a visit.

“Great selection of items on the menu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2014

What started off as a pretty shaky visit turned out quite well. We were seated for approximately 7 minutes before any waitstaff came by, but the table seated 6 minutes after us was waited on immediately. We were about to walk out, but a different server came over. Smoked fish appetizer was great. Brisket was good. Pulled pork was quite dry, so I'd recommend against getting that. I had heard great things about this place and aside for the initial hiccup, it was overall a 4 out of 5 in my book. (First impressions and all)

“Bar-b-que”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2014 via mobile

We used to enjoy going here, but it seems the quality of food and cleanliness has dropped in recent months. We have heard the same from numerous neighbors. I feel they need to step it up in an effort to gain back old customers.

“Love it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2014

Great little historic place with excellent food. BBQ was very good, smoked chicken wing appetizer a must, good beer selection. Service was above average.

“Three tries-two mediocre lunches and a very poor dinner.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2014

We have had three separate sub par meals in the last two months. after the last dinner we are swearing off the Tavern unless it improves the quality of the food.
At the first lunch, we had the smoked salmon BLT. It had very little smoke flavor to the salmon and it was pieced together rather than a fillet. The second lunch was the Big B Hamburger mediocre at best, and overpriced.
Our last trip was for dinner. The quality of the HOME RUN family style dinner was below standard. The Ribs were small, quite fatty and over cooked. Clearly a lower quality and under sized meat source. We upgraded to the Beef Brisket and were very disappointed. Small portion size, mainly burnt end tips and "with the grain" meat scraps. there were two reasonable slices The BBQ smoke quality has dropped off considerably. I brought my concern to waiter, he said he would mention it to the cook, left the bill and disappeared. No manager was visible and we just left. This was a Tuesday night May 27th. We have tried to support a local business but there are limits.
Due to its remote location and poor quality of the menu, we will not be returning. Sad to see the Tavern fall so far below its standards.
