My husband and I brought his folks here for dinner on Friday, 4/11. The staff are a wonderful group of people, a lot of them kids just working their summers away at this golf course setting-- our server was very friendly and also knowledgeable about the menu. My mother-in-law and I each had the fish fry (cod with fries and cole slaw). I opted for mac-n-cheese instead of fries. The fish was great! The fries and cole slaw were good, the mac-n-cheese was not what it was the last time we were in. Their cornbread, though, is amazing! It comes with a generous dollop of their honey pecan butter and, seriously, it is like eating a piece of cake-- heavenly! My father-in-law had their "Full Monty" and loved every bite, right down to the baked beans and garlic redskins he had alongside. He said the baked beans were the best he'd ever had. My husband ALWAYS gets the smoked meatloaf (unless, that is, they are sold out of it-- which happens because it is a well-known local favorite!). It's just a nice place to have dinner all-around.
On Fridays and Saturdays they have live music in their tavern area, and that's pretty fun for after dinner, too. You would literally not know a more raucous crowd was brewing in the tavern while you're dining in the restaurant, the place is that big and nicely laid-out. We love it there!
