Owner description: Just 95 minutes from Chicago, this 18-hole, public Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course reflects the high standards of the world's leading design firm, Nicklaus Design. After successfully hosting the Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid in 2012 and 2014, Harbor Shores will again play host in 2016 and 2018. The course runs over remarkably diverse terrain that challenges golfers even as it offers a spectacular setting in which to play. Three holes offer dramatic views of Lake Michigan, eleven holes border the Paw Paw River, Ox Creek and its wetlands, and four holes wind through rolling hills, ravines and a hardwood forest. The result is a golf course unlike any other.

“A change for the entire area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2014

What a wonderful golf course. The vistas are amazing and the art and sculptures on the course only add to the visual pleasure. The community and the local supporters are to be commended for the vision that it took to bring this to a reality. It is a benefit for all.

“BEAUTIFUL! (worth your time to read to end)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2014

What a beautiful course! My husband and I were lucky enough to golf with two guys who had played the course before. They were able to provide tips that a "first timer" would not know. There are several holes with blind spots. I played the up tees (very fair for a senior female for the most part) and my husband played the senior tees. Although many courses mix up the tee box colors now, it's fun to claim I played from the Blue at HS! Greens are wicked - can see why Johnny Miller wanted to chip on #10 with 3 tiers! Be sure to check out the metal sculptures at each tee (many with blown glass accents) and read about each hole. You will not return to the clubhouse on the turn but the course does have nice restrooms and a snack shop, plus a beverage cart. The course was in great shape except for the 18th green which had been taken over by geese and there were MANY "obstacles" (but the pin was forward and they were in the back). The proshop was shocked when we told them and they called maintenance right away. Staff was great. Proshop had a nice selection for men but I was surprised at the small assortment for women, especially since the LPGA is scheduled for next weekend. Nice bar/restaurant (good/bad view on the practice green!) GPS may send to the the maintenance barn - beware. Usually there are 2 daily deals available on ezlinks.com. Logo balls on practice areas. Enjoy!

“Good test of golf”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013 via mobile

Played here on a Saturday during twilight. Pace of play was pretty good considering the time playing. Course is beautiful. Place has all the little extras that make it special. GPS in carts, plenty of tee options, perfect course conditions. Range and two bottles of water came with the round. Still think the price is a little high, but I will come back again. You can replay on the same day for $52 dollars, so playing 36 makes the price more manageable.

“Terrific Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course at Lake Michigan”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

The Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course at Harbor Shores will test your golfing ability while providing beautiful views of Lake Michigan and surrounding river valleys. Host to the 2012 PGA Senior Championship in 2012 and again in 2014, you will have an extremely memorable round of golf when you play at Harbor Shores. Bring your A game, and plenty of golf balls.
Be sure to check out the you-tube video of Jack Nicklaus sinking a 90 ft. putt on hole 10 in the 2011 Grand Opening celebration, accompanied by legends Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson and Johnny Miller!

“Must golf and see the views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

Great golf course that will take you a long time to finish but well worth it. Prices are reasonable but I'm from Chicago people from Indiana or Michigan may say its expensive... but it's not a park district now ...it's a signature course so therefore you pay for such.
