Had the pleasure of dining at Maleas finally and so glad we did. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, not too large or noisy. Staff was attentive and knowledgeable. The food was definitely a stand out, complemented by a quality wine list. Nice selection of entrees and pastas were freshly cut and prepared. The crab cake appetizers we selected were the closest to a true East Coast crab cake, large pieces of moist crab not weighed down with filler. A great deal of attention was obviously paid to each plate. Sauces were prepared to order and meats were freshy sauted or grilled. I chose a Chicken Marsala with fresh cut Paparadelle in a Marsala Cream Sauce. Flavor was outstanding, although a little sweet for my taste. Chef/owner was attentive to our comments and said each dish is prepared to order. It would be no problem to ask for a reduction of the sweetnes. Encouraged us to return and to try the dish the way we would like. We will definitely return. What a delightful place in a small downtown location. Reservations are highly recommended.
