“Another great meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

Had two really great meals here last night -- and no, I didn't eat them both myself! The crispy cod was spectacularly prepared. It is misleading because it isn't fried fish but has a crispy skin on top which is easily removed. It is served with a potato and braised red cabbage which is full of flavor. The special was a swordfish with curry. It was cooked to perfection and the flavor of the curry with veggies was yummy. Chef Toby Hill hit it out of the park with these two dishes.

“Spectacular Dining Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

We have been following Chef Toby Hill for about ten years and were excited to hear that he recently landed at Lyric restaurant in Yarmouth Port. We had dined at Lyric before and always enjoyed it, but Toby took it to a new level.

I dined with my husband and his parents, all self described “foodies.” We all agree that the bread is indicative of the meal to follow. Toby’s homemade brown bread muffins led us to believe that the upcoming dishes would be a memorable dining experience. We were right. To start, we shared a bowl of the soup of the day – carrot and ginger with a spicy component I can’t remember the name of, but really gave the soup a nice kick, steak tartar with garlic aioli, crispy shallots, caperberries and housemade focaccia, and Tuna Crudo with smoked paprika vinaigrette, pickled fennel and plumped raisins. I wanted more of everything, particularly the tuna which was bursting with flavor and served totally rare with components not often associated with traditional tuna appetizers.

We all ordered a different entrée – chicken fried pork chop with homemade mac ‘n cheese for my husband, a swordfish special for his dad, and salmon with fingerlings, cipolinni, and pancetta for his mom. Since I like to taste as much of the menu as possible, I opted for a grilled octopus salad with white beans and bacon, and a half portion of duck Bolognese with ricotta gnocchi, shaved parmesan, and truffle oil. There was silence at the table for about a minute after our entrees were placed before us. I think we were all in our own little culinary heavens. As is our tradition, we passed plates to determine who had ordered best. Nobody could decide, but nobody had food envy.

Rarely do the four of us dine out without any criticism, but last night, we were hard pressed to find any fault. I highly recommend Lyric for an exceptional dining experience.

“Sublime”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012 via mobile

Spicy Bloody Mary's followed by lobster bennies with chorizo hash, peach mimosas and finish with the lemon cello creme cake. Outstanding service and entertainment from Rob at the bar. So well worth getting up before noon on Sundays.Excellent place for a date night too! We are a fan of Chef Melissa n Rob!

“Great Cape Cod restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

First thing to say is that Ann, the owner, is a warm and welcoming presence and add to that, she sings! The drinks are good, service attentive without being overbearing, and the food is good. While we eat here year around, we also joined them for New Year's Eve 2011 with a party of 10 and had a most festive fun evening that lasted much longer than we anticipated! Very enjoyable place.

“Enjoyable Dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

Recently tried dinner at Lyric, and it was a wonderful experience. As we entered we were greeted by the owner and shown to our table. We opted for a quiet table in a dinning room just off the bar. There was a small Jazz Band playing, quite enjoyable. Our server was knowledgeable and very pleasant. As I have special dietary needs (Celiac), I was happy to discover that our server and Chef were more than happy to make accommodations. From start to finish a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Look forward to another visit.
