“Back to Bocado”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

We went back to Bocado to celebrate a birthday - it had been almost three years since our last visit, judging by the date on the gift card we found in a drawer, which still had a valid balance. No real reason why it had been so long – we’d always had a good meal at Bocado. We dined this time at 5:30, and had the place pretty much to ourselves. Veronica gave us attentive and expert service. The Bocado experience means enjoying lots of small plates. We put the emphasis on "lots”. We ordered three items on a charcuterie board: a cured Spanish ham, chorizo and smoked duck breast, along with a glass of the house sangria for me, which could have used some extra "punch", and the sparkling version for my companion, with limoncello, lemonade, and raspberries in the mix. I tried it - it had zip. Everything we ordered was fresh and tasty, but the standouts were the fried haddock fingers - I could eat dozens - the rice balls (fried again... sense a pattern?) and the amazing twin mini shrimp & parmesan burgers. Our server steered me away from the baked crab & vegetable filled empanadas, so I instead chose a Spanish beef stroganoff, one of the specials. It was a generous serving of very tender beef and pasta with a sauce that enhanced without smothering. We can also recommend the Ciervo de Flanco, small pieces of venison served with saffron rice and bits of eggplant. Each of us also ordered a wine flight and here again Veronica helped us select wines to suit our tastes. But - and this is important - they really should serve wine in wine glasses, not rocks glasses! It cheaped the experience, and one cannot get the full flavor from wine when it's in the wrong glass. No dessert for us - we filled up on the tapas and even had some to bring home. We’ll be back to Bocado much sooner the next time. It occurs to me that a beer and one or two small plates at the bar would make a fairly affordable midweek meal...

“Awesome tapas and great wines”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

Had the "experience" for for two: six plates, paella and churros with chocolate for desert. The best was the duck leg in port-apricot sauce, followed closely by the rabbit braised in white wine and herbs. The presentation was great and the atmosphere was intimate if a bit noisy. We also ordered four flights of wines and got quite an education in Spanish wine regions and grape varitites from Dimitry, our waiter, who was very knowledgeable and provided impeccable service. Make reservations for a weekend night, this place is popular. We're going back to work our way through more of the Tapas menu, it all looked so good!

“Great Experience-Everytime”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

This is our go-to restaurant. Bocado's is the best place for a night out when you want a more intimate vibe. You can actually hear your conversations... The food is top notch, we have never had a bad dish and their wine selection has something for everyone. Wine menu is great, set up as taste/glass/flight/bottle which gives you a lot of options to try new tastes. Their Sangria is excellent. You cannot go wrong here.

“Excellent place for tapas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

Bocado is a great place for tapas. Very flexible on changing ingredients to eliminate garlic for me. Every plate was wonderful with the exception of vennison that was a little chewee for my tast. Wine selections are great and fairly price and their sangrias are excellent.

We will visit again. Most likely would be one of our favored restaurants if we were closer.

“Tapas is great for those who love just a taste”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

We were pleasantly surprise by the number and variety of tapas frias (cold) and caliente (hot). It was difficult to nArrow our choices. Everything was excellent. Wait staff were friendly and attentive and staggered delivery of dishes at our request. Wonderful experience. Definitely worth coming to Worcester - even if you usually head to Boston.
