I should have read these reviews before staying here. I agree 100% with everything the previous reviewers wrote. We just moved to Worcester and needed a place to stay until we found a house to rent. I chose Suburban because of the price and proximity to everything. Bad choice. The only reason we didn't change hotels was because we had to prepay for the entire week.
First, the guests staying at this hotel are, let's just say sketchy. I did not feel comfortable at all.
Smoke - Their website says "This is a non-smoking hotel". The entire hotel smells like cigarette smoke. We stayed 7 nights, and every single time we opened the door into our room there was a horrible musty smell and cigarette smoke.
Business Center - Their website also says "Business travelers will appreciate the on-site Business Center, offering access to copy and fax services." I asked the front desk employee where the business center was, and she said "there is no business center." Huh.
Iron - The website says there is an iron & ironing board. There isn't.
Internet - Wifi internet was a joke, it was so slow.
Noise - On the second night, the people below us were screaming at each other for probably half an hour to an hour, so I called the front desk and they said they were sending someone up to take care of it. It was about 10 minutes later that things quieted down. We were almost going to call the police it was so bad. Every night after that there was always some commotion going on downstairs.
Dryer - After 1.5 hrs in the dryer, our clothes were still wet. Not even partially dry. I told the front desk and they refunded me the money and told me he would NOT recommend using the dryer on the 2nd floor (not sure what that meant), so he told me I could go over to the hotel next door and try a dryer there. I just hung the clothes up around the room instead.
Kitchen - We used the oven one night and it took over 1 hour to just preheat to 350 degrees! Also, there was only one plate and one mug in the kitchen.
Furniture - The furniture is old and falling apart and needs to be replaced.
Employees - The employees were always frazzled and were not friendly. It was also common to go to the front desk and have to wait several minutes for an employee to show up. We needed to stay in a hotel for one more day, and decided it would be easier to just stay one more day here (hey if we've already survived 7 days here we could probably handle one more night!). When I went down to the front desk, in the middle of the day, I waited 10 minutes and no one showed up. So I decided they're not getting any more of our money, and booked another hotel!
Don't be tempted by the price... stay somewhere else!
