“Poorly managed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

I wish I could give a review based on the food or drink, but we never made it past the host's stand. We tried to eat here twice in a two-day period, but had no luck. The first night, we arrived just after 9:00 because we had seen the hours posted outside as "12:00 until..." So, we thought they'd be open later than most of the other places nearby. It turns out the kitchen had just closed. The host informed us of this and sent us to a nearby restaurant that's open until 10:00 (Fishmonger's Cafe- great food). The second night, we got off the ferry and went to Landfall just after 8:00. We asked the same host what time the kitchen would close. He showed no sign of recognizing us from the previous night, then said he didn't really know, it depended on the crowd, but usually around 9:00. We went back to our room, changed quickly, and returned within 20 minutes. Once again, the host didn't recognize us and informed us that the kitchen was closed. He said it had closed 20 minutes ago. We explained that we'd been there 20 minutes before and he just smiled and said "yeah, the kitchen closed then." Not even a perfunctory "sorry" and no offer of an alternative- or to check whether there was a chance to seat us since there were still about a dozen tables with diners at them. The place looks nice enough, but the host's service was so poor I'll not try it again.

“Nice place but poor food and service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

5 of us went in here for lunch with no big expectations. The place is really authentic but that is where it stops. My wife asked for a burger to be well done but it got burned. The flavour of the rest was diner standard at best. The only saving grace was that the price was ok ..... maybe due to the fact that we were never offered any more drinks ... maybe it could be ok for dinner

“can't beat the atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

A cocktail here at the end of the day is unbeatable. Between the friendly, professional staff, interesting mix of locals and visitors and waterfront location this is my favorite place to be (aside from a boat). I enjoy the food as well, Woods Hole is an inherently expensive place to eat but I think its worth it.

“Nice restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

I've eaten there in the past. This time I had the Swordfish, which was done very well. Delicious. The atmosphere is fantastic with views out over the harbor to Nantucket. Overall, a pleasant experience

“Really Nice Lobster, and Much More”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

A must-eat-here place on our annual visit to Cape Cod. In Woods Hole, a very short walk from the ferry to the Vineyard. Lobster is really good, but salmon, scrod, etc. are too. Nice, half-sized desserts, to end the meal. Nautical atmosphere. NO AC. Well worth a visit, on a day that's not too hot or too humid.
