“Convenient and friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

Very close to the ferry and clean, tidy, well run place. As others have said it is an older style motel but it is so well kept and with such accommodating staff that it feels very welcoming. Only suggestion would be to get rid of the old carpets as in the humidity they feel damp and sticky. This was our second visit and we will come again.

We stayed here the night before going over to Martha's Vineyard for the day and couldn't really ask for more. After buying the ferry tickets at reception, it was an easy 10 minute stroll straight on to the boat.

The room itself was large and clean, there was a pool which looked pretty good but we didn't have the time to try it ourselves and the lady on reception (didn't catch her name!) was chatty, friendly and welcoming. They were even kind enough to let us leave the car with them for the day after we had checked out. Would certainly recommend

Nice family owned motel right in Woods Hole. The rooms are equipped w/ fridge, cable, etc, and are squeaky clean. The motel is certainly not new but the owners do a great job keeping it clean. It is only 1/3 of a mile to the MV Ferry and the various attractions of Woods Hole. The village of Woods Hole is small w/ a limit on things to do (Lots of restaurants, though) , but is absolutely beautiful.

Room Tip: The "Family Rooms" are worth the extra $20 dollars as they are at the far end of the motel...

This sweet motel is two blocks from Woods Hole, so walking is a pleasure. The motel rooms are immaculate, and the beds are very comfortable. Management is friendly and accommodating. We had a lovely night's experience here and highly recommend this wonderful, family-owned motel.

Room Tip: Book well in advance, as they fill up fast.

From the outside, it's a retro motel with rooms flanking a pool. Each room is comfortable and clean. The hosts are friendly and welcomed us before the season had actually begun. Less than 1/2 mile to the harbor, an easy walk takes you to good restaurants and the ferry. I'd be happy to stay again.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2014

We have stayed here about four times when we have had an early morning ferry to catch the next day. It is clean, dependable, generally quiet and most of all convenient. When we arrive it's after an 11 hour car trip, we check in, walk to town for our first lobster dinner of the trip, go back to the room, collapse and sleep til the alarm goes off. The ferry could not be closer, if you have luggage with wheels you could probably walk it easily (but we are alwasy taking a car on the ferry so don't know for sure). Once when we stayed, it was a weekend and a party of "destinantion wedding" freinds/relatives made things a bit noisy, but it did not disturb our sleep. Also of note: old fashioned "motel" style places can smell "musty" from all the wet shoes, beach towels etc but this place seems cleaner/dryer than many similar. Beware there is no breakfast at the inn, but the town is a short walk away with a selection of bakeries and/or coffee shops. Very reasonably priced for the excellent location.

We appreciate your comments and your repeat business. We wish your ratings were higher, others have been, but this is an honest review. We are an older motel but we work very hard to provide first rate service and cleanliness. Please let us know if you notice any specific problems when you stay with us.

I stayed here for a good friends wedding this past September and have no real complaints. This is a quintessential no frills motor lodge. You know what to expect the second you look at pictures of the place. The rooms are small and basic but comfortable enough. The Sleepy Hollow is just a few minutes walk or extremely short drive to the center of Woods Hole. My wife and I arrived very late at night and the proprietors were helpful in setting us up with the room with no hassle once we gave them the heads up.

If you need to stay in the area this place is relatively affordable and convenient.

The Sleepy Hollow is a classic motor inn providing affordable accommodations in historic Woods Hole Village.
