“Good but not the best hampton inn I've stayed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

after a recent one night stay. The hotel is (most important to me) clean as any Hampton which is why i always try to use Hampton for short stays. I'm not sure if it was just the darker decor but felt like the room was smaller than other hamptons, bathroom & smaller window as well. Though it was nicely decorated, perhaps too dark for my taste. None the less, very clean with friendly, helpful staff as any hampton. Lobby area and breakfast area were also smaller than others and with a full hotel, the area was just mobbed in the morning. Thankfully we had a breakfast apointment somewhere else because I would not have even bothered fighting for a table spot and battling to get food (figure of speeches of course) but you get the drift. Just wasnt quite the nicest, or roomiest or most comfy lobby to chit chat and enjoy as other hamptons are.
We neaded to be in near by Rohde Island and we chose this hampton because the price was cheaper than other Hapmton and other hotels in that area.
Bottom line, Nice, clean and I would stay again if nead be but wouldnt if for several nights. So I will give Hampton Inn one less on the rating vs all others I've stayed so far.

Thank You for your good review of our hotel. We are an older design of Hampton but have been updated per Hilton standards. We hope that you can stay with us soon and thanks again for taking the time to share.

We only planned to stay 1 or 2 nights but we found this property in a perfect location. It was only an hour or so to visit: Newport, Boston, Martha's Vineyard, Plymouth and parts of Cape Cod. We stayed 5 nights here and found the property to be clean and comfortable. Yes the property is older (aren't we all) but it has been updated and is obviously well maintained. Breakfast was Hampton good. We felt that the pricing for rooms was very reasonable for this part of the country. All of the personnel were friendly and very professional. If you are looking for value and a home port to sightsee then this porperty is for you.

We stayed two nights at this location and found the staff to be friendly and professional. The room was very clean. However the property is an older hotel. The breakfast was good. The building faces directly onto I-495 and sit very close to the highway.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper be sure to ask for a room on the back side of the building, opposite the...

This Hampton is close to the freeway, so you can hear the freeway depending on which side of the hotel you are on. That said, if you are noise sensitive as I am, they do there best to accomodate you. The front desk staff actually brought the key up to me for a different room when I asked to be moved. Good clean room. Based on stays at 3 different Hamptons this week, they all seem to have a policy now of cleaning sheets and duvees, which is a nice touch. Pretty standard Hampton, although the exercise facility was excellent - equipment appeared to be new. This hampton also has an indoor pool. For those who are Hilton Honors members, this hotel is at the 12500 point category which is good value to use for free nights.

Booked a king non-smoking room. The king size bed was OK but smoke was coming in from somewhere (probably the room below us) and was pretty disgusting. The next morning we switched to a different room for our 2nd night and that was good, no more smoke. However, the A/C did not work as good as it should have. It was set at 60 degrees when we came in the room (that should have been a clue) and it did not keep the room cool enough. I find it astounding that they would have smoking rooms below non smoking rooms. First time I've had an issue with a Hampton Inn.

Room Tip: If you are a non smoker, ask for a room that they will guarantee will be smoke free.

Thank You for taking the time to share your thoughts about your stay in Westport. Sometimes smokers smoke where they shouldn't and it is a problem. We have a few smoking rooms in the hotel to try to control where guest smoke, because they will smoke in a nonsmoking room. We are glad the staff was able to move you to a better location.

We recently decided to stay at this hotel for four nights after reading some positive reviews online. However, during our stay, my wife and I found the bed to be too soft and both of us had back soreness each morning. In addition, during one of the nights after we returned to the hotel, we found some obvious areas in the bathroom, especially surrounding the toilet bowl was not cleaned (with hair and other residue clearly visible). We did not make a big fuss of it as we thought it was a one time ommission. The next night, similar thing happened, except this time, we found our used towels still left in the bathtub, bath towels, shampoos, shower gel, etc. not being refilled and used face towels lying around the sink area. It left us to question the sanitary condition of this hotel and how much effort the housekeeping staff put forth to ensure the rooms are cleaned each night. We called the front desk to complain and to her credit, she tried to resolve the issue quickly though she was not sure for multi-night guests, whether it is part of their housekeeping standards to clean the bathroom (sink, toilet, bathtub) on a daily basis. She asked that I speak to the Manager in the morning, which we did. Since we used our points for the stay, the best he could offer was to credit some points back to our account, which we expressed our appreciation. However, up to now, it has been two weeks since our checkout and nothing has been posted to our account yet. Not sure that I would recommend this hotel.

Arrived late (2AM) after a very long drive from Oklahoma. The desk clerk was very nice and cordial. Since we were checking in so late she offered us a later check out time which was much appreciated. The hotel sets right off of I-195 but its construction blocked out all the traffic noise. The lobby/elevator area was clean and inviting. Our room was a King smoking room. The smell of smoke was barely detectable. The bed was extremely comfortable and I love the feather pillows. I slept the sleep of the dead. When we woke we checked out the breakfast offerings and it was standard Hampton Inn type foods, bagels, muffins, waffles or cereal. Plenty of coffee and juices. Every staff member we came in contact with was nice, polite and accomodating. The hotel itself is kind of off by itself, however the tourist attractions of Fall River are just a short drive away.
