“Best place ever!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013

We arrived on the 9th of October and stayed for two nights. The view from our room was wonderful and very relaxing. The resort is immaculate inside and out. When we come back to the Cape we never want stay anywhere else. Our only regret is that you not opened year round.

Room Tip: I have stayed here at least 3 times and have been in a different room each time. They were all well...

On this beautiful 65 degree 2nd of November Saturday afternoon, it is quite easy to imagine being open year-round. Those of us who work here know that the northeast winds of winter, and the bone chilling breezes off the water in the spring, would send guests running for warmer accommodations. We will be both inside and out preparing the resort for our May 2014 re-opening. Thanks for your kind words, and we'll see you next year .... perhaps in "different room" number four ! Janice and the after-closing staff at Green Harbor.

We weren't sure what to expect from the Green Harbor Resort as we drove through a commercial area of West Yarmouth. We were kind of nervous actually till we turned into a residential area and down a winding road to the very end where spread out before us were acres of manicured green space and buildings - all looking out over the water. Our first impression was "wow" - amazing! Our check-in went smoothly. We didn't get as much helpful information on dining etc. from the desk clerk - basically referred to some brochures. But other than that things went well. Our room was in a small one story building with 4 efficiencies. The room came with a fully equipped kitchen including dishes, utensils etc. We enjoyed the convenience of being able to make our breakfast in the morning and having the refrigerator available for snacks and drinks. Green Harbor is an apt name for this resort as the green lawns and green trimmed buildings are striking. The maintenance is awesome. The resort has play equipment available for use for free including bikes. You can play mini-golf or just soak up the sun on the ocean. The summer season was over when we took our trip so it was a little too cool for the pool, but it looked very attractive and overlooked Nantucket Sound. We had a grill right outside our front door and wished we had been there longer so we could use it. Our checkout was as smooth as the check-in. Wonderful spot for a relaxing and comfortable vacation.

Thank you for writing such a descriptive review of your stay at Green Harbor. Right now we are
cleaning up and closing down for the winter months ahead. The lawn is still green and the flowers are still blooming, and it is lonely out there without the sounds of guests enjoying their vacations. We do take reservation calls year-round, and gift certificates make a great holiday gift. Enjoy beautiful Charleston (i said "wow"! when i was there ) and give us a call the next time you are looking for a NE vacation. Thanks again, Janice and the winding down GH staff

We were looking for lodging with a direct water-view that we could afford for our early fall visit to the Cape. Off-season rates make it affordable & the direct view of the water and well kept grounds make it a pleasant respite!
Located nearly on the Hyannis / West Yarmouth town line, it is perfectly located for mid-cape exploring.
The Green Harbor staff was both genuinely caring & friendly and could be counted on to help in whatever you needed. Thank you to Janice & her team for a pleasant stay!
We had a first floor single level two room suite. Very clean, but it should be noted that the interior decor of the rooms are not upscale but more towards 80-90's simple. However, the beds are great, very comfortable for a good night's sleep.
With the water-view, private beach, heated outdoor pool & location, we would return on another trip to the cape.

We appreciate that you took the time to write a review. We work as a team here at Green Harbor which shows in the finished product. IMO, the housekeepers are the hardest workers and deserve the most credit ! We do need to change the on-line pictures on some of the rooms to show the recent updates ... and there are plans for more renovations in 2014. Thank you again for your complimentary comments ..... Stayed here 3 nights to recharge batteries after a week in New York and Boston. Ideal base to chill out and explore Cape Cod. We stayed as three adults in 2 bedroom apartment (2 queen beds in one room and 2 singles in other). The spacious living room/ kitchen (well equipped) looked out onto the bay and had an adjoining porch to sit out on. Wifi a bit patchy. Spotlessly clean throughout and comfortable beds. No restaurants on site but short 10min drive/ taxi into Hyannis. Friendly and welcoming staff.

Great large apartment sized room with 2 bedroom & 2 baths. On water with private beach & heated pool. Beautiful view from balcony. Centrally located on Cape but a mile off the main drag makes it feel very quiet. Very reasonably priced (off season rates). Room is certainly not upscale (80's-90's decor) but is unbelievably clean & well kept. Many activities available for the whole family without leaving the resort. Friendly, helpful staff --- wish we'd gone to them first to plan our outings. Only downside is the noise from the other room ... People noise & water & fan noise can all be heard in adjacent apartments so need to plan to take earplugs & sleeping pills if you have late night neighbors. Even so, we wished we had planned to stay longer & would definitely stay again.

Thank you for sharing your vacation experience. I apologize for the noise situation. The suites are the only first floor or second floor units, so perhaps next time you could book a free standing house or a side by side duplex. All the units here have kitchens, and many have a water view. The rates are lower in the off seasons and it is still warm enough for the pool and beach. Thanks again, and give us a call in 2014. Our family of four (kids aged 8 and 11) stayed for five nights at Green Harbor and we were not disappointed! The many positive reviews that have been posted by others paint an accurate picture of this wonderful little resort. We had a lovely 2-bedroom cottage that was perfect in size, super clean and well furnished (not "luxury" by any stretch, but quite suitable for families). The property is relatively small, but that works to its advantages: it's cozy, comfortable and safe for the kids, and everyone is just a short walk away from the beach and the pool.

A few of the positive things that were especially noteworthy:
1) There were many activities available for the kids. The fishing derby was a big hit, and my baseball-loving children had an absolute blast playing wiffle ball with a couple of the visiting players from the local Cape Cod league.
2) The outdoor pool (heated) was great, as was the beach, which has very calm water and was not very crowded.
3) The staff were super friendly and helpful.
4) The place was extremely quiet at night. We are always concerned about noise (loud music, drinking) at these types of resorts, but our evenings at Green Harbor were wonderfully peaceful.

There were a few minor inconveniences (nothing is perfect!) which did not significantly detract from our holiday but which could be addressed:
1) The WiFi in our unit (#34) was poor, and despite several hours with off-site tech support, never worked reliably with our mobile devices (although we could connect elsewhere on the property).
2) The TV in our unit was an old fashioned RCA tube model. Tough to watch the ballgame in the evenings when you are used to flat screens and high def. Time for an upgrade!
3) It would be helpful for the resort to provide beach towels, to save packing space for guests such as us that are travelling by plane.

The bottom line: this is a great place for families with young kids. Ours are already asking to go back next year!

Thank you for taking the time to write such an in-depth description of your Green Harbor vacation! Your children were the perfect age to enjoy all the resort activities, and as they grow, we have larger accommodations that will suit your needs. We will finish upgrading the last few rooms with flat screen TVs this winter. The wireless is the #1 priority on our list to address. We do provide extra room towels for our guests who need them for the pool. Since you balanced out on a positive note, we hope to see you in 2014. Merci !! Janice and the GH staff

We stayed at the Green Harbor for 2 nights and wished, we could have stayed longer. We were greatet by the outstanding friendly and helpful staff. Our room, a little cottage with a kitchenette, was nice and clean and very quiet. Unfortunately we didn't have the time to use all the amenities like bikes, kayaks or the heated pool.
We'll do that next time, as we plan to come back.
You are only minutes away from downtown Hyannis, with it's lovely Main Street full of restaurants and shops.

Thank you for your kind words. Two days is definitely not long enough to see all that Cape
Cod has to offer. We are open from the middle of May to the middle of October, so come on back so you can swim in our 85 degree pool, cycle about, and stroll the main street of beautiful downtown Chatham. All of our accommodations have kitchens, so you can even try a different room type next time. Vielen dank !! Janice and the GH staff
