Description: The Lambert's Cove Inn & Restaurant is known as one of the most romantic retreats on Martha's Vineyard. Situated on 7 acres of spacious lawns, gardens, forest and meadowlands in the pastoral town of West Tisbury, it offers tranquility and seclusion. The Restaurant offers one of the best dining experiences on the island. Enjoy the ambiance of our elegant dining room with it's beautiful fireplaces and 100 year old grand piano featuring live entertainment in season. Our dinner menu rotates, featuring fresh island seafood, veal, beef, poultry, in-season vegetables from local gardens and farms, homemade soups, breads and delicious desserts. The Restaurant is not appropriate for children under the age of 8 (with the exception of Mother’s Day and Easter brunches). Note: The restaurant is no longer BYOB!

“Wonderful atmosphere and style”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012 via mobile

Beautifully decorated and kept this is a hidden gem in the woods on Martha's Vineyard. Private and lovely it is delightful for private weekend or just candlelit dinner.
Food was very good or better. Price comparable to other good island dining so higher than mainland. Service attentive although it slipped slighty through the meal as other tables arrived. The dining room was not crowded but staffing down a bit as it is the shoulder season. Love the atmosphere and decor and would recommend.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a thorough review. We're thrilled you loved it here and hopefully if and when you come back, we can make up for the less than perfect service. WE strive for nothing less than perfect, but sometimes we just have an off night. WE'll do better next time. Thansk again,
Scott & Kell

“No longer BYOB, but as wonderful as ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

This is an update to our 9/10/11 review. We've been coming to MV for a week every Sept-Oct for 8 years, including a MUST dinner at Lambert's Cove. The setting is awesome, inside and out (but it's in the middle of nowhere, so make sure to use your GPS/mapping resources). The service is wonderful. But the most outstanding feature is the food. It's still the kind of food that makes you say wow with every dish that comes your way---really.

I mourned the passing of BYOB, because we're on a budget, but the wine list is VERY reasonably priced. It looks to have a good range of prices and kinds of wines, though we only had one---an Italian Pinot Grigio that did NOT disappoint. To the owners: The wine list is so reasonably priced that I'm guessing you intentionally tried to minimize your mark-up here. If so, you may want to advertise that fact! Thanks for another memorable dinner.

Hello the DapperDan's,

Kell and I were away for a week of much needed R&R after a busy season and are sorry that we missed you. Thank you for the kinds words and updating your 2011 review. Regarding the wine list, we promised the town that if they voted to allow us to serve beer and wine to our customers that we would have a very modest wine list and minimize the markup to affordable prices and we've kept our promise. Thank you for noticing and also pointing out to potential guests. We look forward to being here for your next visit and please remind us of this review so we can properly thank you again in person.

“Best meal of the summer on the island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

My husband and daughter and I ate at Lambert's Cove Inn in early August and were lucky enough to get a chef's tasting. It was an absolutely wonderful meal, and no other restaurant we ate in all summer met the same standard. Max Eagan is a very creative chef, putting together flavors I would never have though of joining and delighting the palate.

“Truly very good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2012

This is our second time dining at the inn's restaurant and we had a great experience though while I remember it as outstanding from the first time, this this I can say it was very good. The ambiance is great and it makes the experience. In our opinion, the food was not as good as it was last year. The scallops were pretty good but the risotto, which was supposed to make us lick the plates according to the waiter, was lukewarm at best. Two of us had the scallops and the temperature was the same for both. The beef was great according to the person who ordered it and the flounder was fine. The lava cake was tasty but there was not much "lava" to it. It was overdone and the chocolate did not spill out from the center when cut in half, as it is supposed to do.

Our waiter was very proper but just going through the motions and not truly attentive. He came to ask how everything was but turned around and left before any real feedback could be given.

Overall, still a nice experience and good food but for the price, one would expect more. The food and the service seemed better last year.

Kell and I apologize if you felt your experience wasn't as good as your last visit. We strive for perfection and by this review, I guess we missed the mark. We've received rave reviews this season for our food and service, so we were very surprised to hear the service was not up to par. We hope you'll give us another opportunity to wow you.

We have been coming to the Vineyard for many years. Our absolute favorite among several fine restaurants on the island is the Lambert's Cove Inn Restaurant. The food is outstanding, the setting is beautiful and the service is excellent. This is a winner!!!!
