“Pristine beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

The beach is a challenge to get to; you gotta want it. The dirt road is a little daunting, and it's not easy to find. But, it's so worth it! The beach is beautiful with clean sand, never-ending views of the ocean, and clear water. There were other families but it wasn't too crowded. We spent the day and didn't want to leave. Surf is not scary but enough to make you feel like you're at the beach and not a pond. We didn't make it to the other part mentioned in other reviews, but we will next time.

“Best beach ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

Long Point Beach is the best beach ever! I'm 13 and have been going to MV ever since I was 5 and every year we go to Long Point! It's such an amazing beach! The waves on the ocean side are huge and so fun to play in. You can surf or boogie board on them! That's definitely the best part. Then, after your in the ocean, you can go to the pond! It's so refreshing and great for little children. That's where I went when I was younger. There is also a spot where the ocean and the pond intersect and makes a great lazy river type of thing! It's a long walk to get to the intersection, but its definitely worth it! I love this beach! It's so much fun and I have so many incredible memories here!

“Love this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

I like the winter entrance better than the summer one. Nice walk through a meadow before you hit the dunes and the beach. I had stranded my boat (tiny little thing but motor conked out) an man o' man the Trustees totally helped me get it out. Kudos to them.

“Great public access beach on Martha's Vineyard.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012 via mobile

If you love swimming in ponds as well as the ocean, this uncrowded public beach is the place to go. You can park you and your family on either side of a narrow sandy isthmus. On one side is South Beach with a steep incline and shore break and some good waves further out for beginner surfers. On the other is a large clean fresh water pond with a sandy beach: perfect for young kids and serious swimmers alike. There are nature trails for walking in the preserve and a 1/2 mile walk west along the beach takes you to Tisbury Great Pond, where you can play in the cut when it is open, though this beach is ostensibly private. The access is difficult, with a 2 mile drive down a dirt road off the Edgartown-West Tisbury Road near Scrubby Neck Farm. It costs $8 per person. The parking lot gets full early on weekends.

“Great beach for kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

This beach has it all, a large salt water pond on one side which is shallow enough for kids to wade in, and a wavy beach on the other IDE just a short 2 min walk away. Although the very long dirt road is a bummer to get there, it is an insider's spot for families with kids. Don't miss it!
