“Handsome room in a charming house for a weekend gettaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2009

We stayed in Mad Jack, a handsome room outfitted with a fireplace and a jacuzzi bathtub which certainly added to our weekend. The bed was firm and probably one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. In the morning, Sheila puts together a lovely breakfast including: waffles, fruits, eggs, bacon, granola - which we appreciated even more because we were not expecting such a wonderful layout.
We would certainly revisit the Bursley Manor the next time we vaca in the Cape.

Sheila and Frances know how to run a B&B. The place was wonderfully decorated and well kept. The breakfast was spot on good! Homemade waffles, eggs, fruit, pastries, juices, the works! They had a fireplace in all the bedrooms and sitting areas which added to its historic charm. Add one cute dog, Puck, (won't affect those with allergies!) who makes you feel at home, and you have a B&B worth going back to season after season.

I booked this B&B a few days before my husband and I traveled to the Cape for a long weekend to celebrate my 28th birthday. The inn was clean and cosy, and Sheila made us feel welcome. She has a cute little dog, Puck. The other guests enjoying a breakfast of bagels, cereal, coffee, juice, pastries, waffles, and fresh fruit were a very nice couple from Boston. They were interesting to talk to even though I was not fully awake yet. We stayed for 2 nights in the Wicker Room, the largest room there. It has a fireplace (we didn't use it because it's summer) and a nice big tub with air jets. I brought candles to add to the atmosphere. The room has an in-window AC unit and TV with DVD player. We also had a great relaxing in-room massage from Norma Eberle, LMT, who works out of Cape Cod Fitness Center at the Radisson Hotel. She gives a fabulous massage, I highly recommend her, as well as the Bursley Manor experience.

This was a wonderful stay. We were in the Mad Jack room, and it was excellent. The bed was great, and the linens were incredible, much better than I had expected. It was great to come back after a long day and sack out. The fireplace was operational, and really great, we had a fire every night. Really well decorated room and house. Oh, and friendly dog and cat. They were cute.

Breakfast was great. The hostess serves a continental breakfast (cold items, pastry, criossant, cereal, coffee cake, etc), with a really big variety.

The inn is on Rt 6A, which is very scenic and a wonderful drive. Its also very close to Rt 6, so its convenient for wherever you're going. The only complaint I had was the jacuzzi in the Mad Jack room. Its nice, but it runs on a timer, and you can't turn it off once it starts, you just keep resetting it and it runs longer. So we just used the tub for a nice hot soak, it was great.

Charming inn and gracious hostess. Easy to find and very relaxing, wine upon arrival and delicious fruit and pasteries for breakfast. And the bed, bath and linens were heavenly, perfect for unwinding after a long day of travel.

We stayed 3 nights and had a wonderful time in Cape Cod. Even though we arrived very late at night, the owner Sheila was gracious about it. The breakfast spread was amazing - fresh fruit, pastries, bagels, cereal, scones - the works! It was one of the rare times my boyfriend actually ate breakfast.

We stayed in the Wicker Room (largest room there), which had some street noise but that ends later in the night. As other reviewers have stated, the bathrooms have a jacuzzi tub which was wonderful to soak in if you can handle the loudness of the jets. There was a hairdryer, Tom's of Maine toothpaste, mini toiletry kit, shampoo & conditioner, and even lotion (all travel size of course). Our room also had a TV with DVD player.

There is a dog and a cat there - both very friendly and didn't cause me to sneeze at all (I'm normally allergic to cats and some dogs).

Definitely would go back, and not just because of the repeat discount offer!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay in Cape Cod and our time spent at Bursley Manor in West Barnstable, MA. Sheila, the owner, was very attentive and has created a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere at Bursley Manor. Plenty of information is also available about what to do on the Cape. Sheila offered us the use of beach chairs and towels if we needed them as well. Even the resident dog, Puck, made us feel welcome. The "Mad Jack" room and the entire b&b are tastefully decorated. Our room was comfortable and cozy and the modern bath with its jacuzzi tub was truly wonderful. We didn't want to leave it behind! There is a patio area in back which provides a lovely place to relax, read, enjoy a drink. We wanted a quiet, romantic place to stay with the convenience of close proximity to activities, shopping, restaurants, etc. We found exactly that at Bursley Manor and are already thinking of when we can return!
