“Great location. Great staff.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

The room was sort of tight but I loved the window area of my 6th floor room. My doggie was able to jump from the ottoman to the window sill to sunbathe easily.
I was on business and it was very useful to have an in-room microwave and mini fridge.
The receptionist Charli Rose offered excellent customer service and Maria from Food service was excellent. Maria fell in love with my dog and offered treats for my dog, and she was extra helpful during a medical emergency that i had while i was there.
No pool onsite. No restaurant, but breakfast was more than what i expected. Okay gym and laundry room for those who stay for long periods of time.

Stayed here in order to visit Brandeis University. Front desk staff was welcoming; our room was very nice; free breakfast was pretty standard but fine; a bit tight on space. Location is in suburban highway/hotel zone convenient to Rte. 128/95 and downtown Waltham. Not wildly memorable, but that also means nothing was irksome or problematic!

Driving up to the hotel, it was obvious this place has some stiff competition. I didn't have a problem with the way this Holiday Inn paled by comparison to its neighbors because the price was right. However, when the receptionist, Grace, appeared to offer second class service because we were not business travelers, that did bother me. She was gruff and offered misinformation about the commuter rail, "It doesn't go into Boston." I looked it up online and discovered it DOES go into Boston. Why not just say they don't offer non-business travelers shuttle service to the commuter line? Of course, when I called to make a reservation they said they did offer this service and said nothing about it being available only to business travelers. I felt like a second class citizen either way. I will not be stating here again.

Dear Majorabina,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your stay with us. I am happy to hear that you liked the property overall, but your interaction with the front desk is concerning. If you would like to contact me directly to discuss the matter further, please email me at mgagnon@plhghotels.com. Good hotel and great price. The breakfast was PACKED! I don't know where all the people came from. None the less, most food was well stocked and the staff was working! Great check in, very Quick and polite. Standard room and very clean. Not much, if anything, around the hotel if you don't have a car. But safe area and very easy on/off I 95. I stayed here on July 2011 as well and had a great experience.

I decided to try a hotel in Waltham for my visit to the Cambridge area. Hotels in Cambridge and Boston are much more expensive. This Holiday Inn express is much like all others which is a good thing.

We were greeted by reception and they had noted and planned for our request for a quiet room. Unfortunately, there were a group of partiers that kept us up anyway.

The breakfast at all Hol Inn Exp are really poor in quality---processed vs real food but that's what you get for the price.

My one complaint is that the breakfast room TV was set on Fox "News" which I find very objectionable; a politically neutral, real news station would be a better choice.

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, our hotel stay was just wonderful. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was great. I will be staying here next year again when we travel to Boston to watch our son wrestle again. It was a great hotel, so if you are in this area, be sure to stay here. You won't regret it.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Waltham in February following a large snow storm and then experienced a snowfall while there. We felt safe and comfortable and were able easily to call out for delivery for food one night. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful; we especially want to thank Charli for her warm hospitality. The hotel was clean and room was attractive. The breakfast measured up to our expectations for a delicious, variety of breakfast choices. We had paid high prices for lodging when our family members lived in Cambridge and are glad that excellent, more economical lodging is available near them now that they are in Lexington.
