“There is a difference..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

There is a real difference between "long term stay" properties and "full service hotels". People live here. I don't mean "live", I mean LIVE. There is a Mom who brings her kids to breakfast every day before taking them to school. I feel like I'm in their kitchen with them each morning.

The rooms are like mini-apartments. Full size oven, cooktops, microwave ovens and residential fridges and freezer combinations. Every (one bedroom) room has a living room, a tiny eating space, a work table, a closeable bedroom door and two TVs. The living room TVs have adapters to make using HDMI, S-Video and composite (red/white/yellow) accessories but when I use HDMI, the screen turns a washed out pink. They also include DVD players which are HDMI capable but connected via composite. Hmm. The bedroom TVs do not have the adapters for using your own accessories, nor have I been able to pull the TVs off the wall far enough to locate any HDMI ports.

Something that is odd is that every bathroom door I've had so far rubs on the floor. Most of the time it's tolerable but in one room, the entire door vibrates and the bottom is all torn up and frayed. They just need to trim half an inch off the bottom and clear it right up, but I can't believe they haven't fixed it yet.

Breakfast is so-so. The pool and grills on the patio look very inviting. Can't wait for it to open soon.

The commute on 95 can be a real bear. At any time from 7 to 7, chances are you're going to get stuck in traffic. There are not too many restaurant options available in the immediate vicinity. You have to go to Moody St for variety and options. The are around the hotel is virtually all hotels and corporate office buildings, Naked Fish being about the only exception.

Room Tip: Room 275 had a horrible rub at the bottom of the bathroom door. I raised the issue to management, le...

Dear EasternPA2:

Thank you so much for all of your feedback regarding our hotel. Regarding the bathroom doors we are investigating shaving off a little in order to make the doors swing easier, however with certain weather changes in New England it is hard to gauge just how much!

Looking forward to your return...

Just off of Rt 128, this hotel is in a great location, convenient to towns around Boston (Burlington, Newton, Watertown, Dedham) and it's also very close to the Mass Pike, making it easy to get into Boston or points west. It is right off of the highway, but tucked far enough away, so that noise is not an issue.

The rooms are nicely appointed with a separate living area/work space and kitchen. The bedroom featured a king-size bed and tv and bureau, while the living area had a big L-shaped sofa bed, a tv, and desk. WiFi, parking and breakfast are free!

For the price, you really can't beat this place!

Have stayed here many times over the past years and in general, has been a very pleasant stay and good value for money. Decent locale for Rt. 128 business access. However, in the past year, have noticed slippage in many areas: facilities need renovation, housekeeping getting sloppy, and corporate Hyatt cutting corners for costs savings. Door lock, HVAC, and furniture showed significant wear/tears and/or didn't work properly. Thermostat cover fell off when I touched it and doesn't work properly. Door lock bent and door not hung true. Dead bugs on floor and shower mat missing from room. Ice maker worked intermittently. Toiletries have declined from downsized "full-line" Portico brand to motel quality. Some properties have tried to move to the euro dispenser styles but that is not a good idea in terms of hygiene and other reasons. Breakfast items are pretty lousy in quality now - "eggs" are microwaved albumin/reconstituted protein, some of the juices taste like reconstituted "corn-syrup" flavorings. All-in-all, as a long-time elite Hyatt member, very disappointed in this property and in the general direction Hyatt is taking it's non "full-line" brands (House, Place). Not even remotely close to Hyatt standards - I expect Hyatt "lite" at these locales, not Budget Inn.

This is an awesome hotel tucked away from the interstate and hussle of the traffic. Very quiet and quaint. The hotel staff was amazing and provided answers with friendliness. I felt like I knew them for years. Social hour and breakfast were a great touch, especially if you wanted to have a bite to each and relax without having to leave to find a place to eat. There were enough food choices to make anyone happy. The rooms were clean and graciously spacious, and all were functioning properly. The kitchen is fantastic to have. I have stayed here a few times, and I find I would not go anywhere else when in the Boston area. Very ideal.

The Hyatt House is a great place for business travel and probably even better for family travel. It is clean and updated and the rooms are great. It is especially good for longer stays. The rooms have both a kitchen and a living room and the beds are comfortable and firm. The bedroom is separate from the living room, so you have a place to work and sit on a couch that is separate from the place you sleep. I really like that feature.

They have a lite snack in the afternoon that is great as well as a hot breakfast in the mornings that are both complimentary. I have stayed here 4-5 times and it has been consitantly very good.

Room Tip: They also have double rooms for families that have a second bedroom.

This is an excellent hotel neatly tucked away from the regular traffic and street noise. The hotel offers a relaxing stay with good breakfast and social hour snacks in the evenings on M-Th. The rooms are clean, comfortable for relaxing and doing office work if desired. I came across this hotel while searching the internet and am glad that I did.

I enjoy my stay at this hotel often. The staff is very courteous and accommodating. My room has always been very spacious and clean. The kitchen is a great asset. My overall experience has been great every time I have stayed at this hotel. It has become my preferred hotel whenever I am in Boston for business.

Room Tip: If you have children or are traveling with a friend, as for the suite with the second bedroom.
