“Review by a local”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

I have visited Le Grenier for years and it has become a favorite. I was so excited when Chef Jean Dupon decided to put LaCave. But, I am very disappointed. I have been there for dinner and for lunch. Lunch is okay but to take 30 minutes for a take out salad was just plain silly. I work in the downtown area and really wanted to try their food. I won't make that mistake again. If you have several hours then you might try it.
I visited for my birthday dinner last summer. The dinner was fine but the service was horrible. They need more help. All restaurants get crazy busy in the summer on the Vineyard and it can be a real problem, but it wasn't busy yet. Even when the order was taken it took forever to get the food. I eat at a lot of the restaurants on the Island and I was very disappointed.
The one nice thing is that the prices are lower than upstairs but the menu really has to change. Disappointed.

“Great Brunch menu”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

Very competent server warmed up after conversation; very good selection for Sunday brunch, from soup to standard (but excellent breakfast selections) to sandwiches. Still feeling its way but has potential.

“A Little Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

The staff was friendly, but the food a little disappointing. Unexceptional, even on a cold blustery Spring day.

“Fantastic Breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

What a treat to the island! The newly finished interior is beautiful and cozy, you can sit outside or inside, we chose inside for our first visit. Real omlettes, not the kind that they throw on the flat grill. We really loved the fact that you could change the choices on your meal and they had a choice of a fruit bowl, which was delicious!
