“Glorious Retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2014

We arrived at Martha!'s Vineyard and The Mansion House after a long day of travel. Tired and exhausted we were greeted by a staff that anticipated what our needs were and met them beyond our expectations. Upon arrival to our rooms we were pleased with the well appointed rooms and "the view!" The Mansion House is perfectly situated in a very quaint and quiet shopping area that just captivates you. No need to rush, nor be concerned. Breakfast was an unexpected treat served by Guy- a very caring and thoughtful gentleman that very graciously served us with a smile. Thank you Guy. Leah front desk every morning with a smile and Bud thank you for your patience and answering every question including how to get to Lola's and Nancy's. Each and every, and I mean very member of The Mansion House made our stay wonderful. It was a glorious retreat and more than I could have imagined or hoped for. I am looking forward to my next visit.

Room Tip: The rooms with a view of the harbor are spectacular- although any room gives you a good view of Vine...

Frankly, this was a much better experience than I had expected. The rooms are fresh, casually decorated in a very attractive way, and well stocked with everything you might need. Except a mini bar...

We were here for a two night stay and had very little interaction with the staff. What we did have was very good. The breakfast is interesting if you take it on one of the provided trays up to the roof deck and gaze at the harbor as you eat. The food isn't anything substantial. If you are a big breakfast person, you might be sad.

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday at this property--not once, but twice! The rooms are clean and quaint, the staff friendly and helpful, and the property is chock-full of amenities!!! While booking the room, we mentioned that we'd be on the island celebrating my birthday--and to our sheer delight, we found a bottle of bubbly Prosecco waiting for us upon our arrival! The property is within walking distance to the Vineyard Haven ferry, charming and affordable. For these reasons (and more), it is quickly becoming our favorite place to stay on the island.

Room Tip: Most rooms have a balcony, but not all. If having a room with a balcony is important, be sure to re...

My husband and I stayed in mid July and loved the Mansion House! The staff was helpful and friendly and our room and the amenities were great! We are planning to make the Mansion house a yearly visit!

Room Tip: We had a street view room which was perfectly fine because the roof top deck is amazing, and surpris...

We stayed at The Mansion House in July. It was our third stay since the beginning of the year. We now feel like we're one of tThe Mansion House family! The rooms are clean, comfortable with the feel of upscale Vineyard living and ours had a view of the harbor! There is a delicious continental breakfast, convenience that can't be beat and helpful staff. Jay at the front went out of his way each visit to be sure we had a top notch experience. We will be back again in the fall!

Stayed 4 nights and the Inn was everything we hoped for. The entire hotel was spotless and up to date. Was pleasantly surprised about the size of the room. King Bed was very comfortable, bathroom very spacious. Could have used another dresser in the room since the one only had 2 drawers. The gym was much larger than I expected and the machines were all up to date. We really enjoyed the roof top terrace which had lounge chairs for seating and watching the view. Breakfast was light but enough of a selection for all
Cant say enough about the staff. Always helpful. Had one situation that I couldnt find the entrance to their small parking lot in back. Ended up calling front desk from my car and the gentleman actually came outside while we were driving and had us follow him on foot while we were in the car and he took us all the way to the lot!
The driving in the area of the hotel is kinda hectic during portions of the day. And their own small parking lot will always fill up to capacity by evening. But as instructed hang their hotel idenitity tag in the rearview and opark across from the stop n shop and you're fine. The police pct is right there. I parked one night at 11:30 and approached the cop and asked if I'm okay in this lot and he said fine, shook hands talked some sports and all was good.
The town of Vineyard is kinda quiet at night which is good. You need a car regardless so everything is a quick drive to all surrounding towns. The chinese restauarant attached to hotel was pretty good and had a nice atmosphere

Another great New England hotel. Our room was superb with a small balcony looking out on to the Main Street. The complimentary breakfast was adequate and topped off nicely by taking it up to the roof terrace to enjoy the 360 views of Vineyard Haven.
