“Totally welcoming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

My wife and I had the Tower Room, with the outdoor shower on a deck at tree-level - fantastic! Very private and relaxing. Marni made us a wonderful breakfast that included everything and then some. The freshly-baked bread (she takes requests the night before) might have been the best part, although all of the fresh fruit and yogurt was great, too, and the porch where she serves is perfect for a summer morning meal. Marni herself is very engaging and knowledgeable about MV, and is willing to share all she knows. The house is a bit out of the hustle of Vineyard Haven (which I think is a good thing - much more peaceful), but close enough on relatively low-traffic streets that it can be walked. We would absolutely stay here again.

Marni graciously shares her knowledge of Martha's Vineyard with her guests -- what to do, what to see, where to eat and everything one needs for a great vacation. The bedrooms are bright, clean and delighfully decorated, some opening out to treetop decks. The beds are large and comfortable. The bathrooms with jacuzzis and japanese-style bathtubs are relaxing and inviting perfect after a day on the beach or hiking in the woods.
Marni's serves up yummy breakfasts, fresh fruits, juices, cereals, and her just-made, home baked breads, all this offerred on a large deck covered w/ wysteria vines overlooking wildflower
gardens, a bubbling koi pond and vineyard woods.
I recommend Marni's House to everyone who comes to the Vineyard!

Room Tip: I prefer the rooms w/ decks..

Marni called us while we were on the ferry on our way out to her house to tell us our room was no longer available. I was upset, worried to say the least fearing I would have no place to stay with two 14 year old boys, their bikes and a dog. She called back and "changed her mind" saying there was now availablity after changing some things around. We were the only guests at her house that evening. Marni was horribly rude to us and even stated that she will not be serving us breakfast the following morning. Her attitude was based on the fact that we had booked this room on Thursday and then had sent her an email saying that we may not be able to make it and if she needed to take another reservation to please do so. We then ended up being able to go and called her before we left which is when we were advised the room was still available.

This woman called three days before the booking to say the trip was in question and to please release the room. Then the day of the booking she called to say the family was on the ferry and expecting to stay. She was angry and panicky to find the room was no longer available. Marni's House was able to shift guests and she seemed grateful to get accommodations during a busy August weekend. Breakfast was not available due to an unexpected family event and the price was adjusted accordingly.
